Story
UPDATE: I want everyone to know that I am here in Canada and ready to find my forever home. I am currently getting used to this very different lifestyle than what I was born into. It is especially challenging given that I am deaf. It is still early days for me here in Canada so my people here don't know me all that well. What they do know is that I am nervous about the many new things that I encounter but I am still trying my best. I will need a new adopter with patience to help me acclimatize as I learn to be more brave with the many new experiences in my life. I am looking for a home with a fenced yard so I can be in nature and still feel safe. Another dog in the home might also help me to adjust but I don't think we'll try one of those meow creatures or kids as they can often move quickly and scare me. If you have a quiet home with loving adults, I'd love to meet you. Maybe we could explore new things together! Hello, I'm CHANEL. Here is some info about me:Breed: Beagle/Jack Russell mixAge: 1 yrWeight: 47 lbCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: deaf, sweet, cuddly, smart, calm, shy, funny, eager to please/learn I'm a gentle and calm girl who loves being petted and cuddled. You're into that right?Found in a ditch, all alone and scared, I was hungry and sick. It seemed like nobody wanted me, because I'm deaf. But then, a super nice lady found me and took me to the vet. She gave me yummy food and lots of love, and I started to feel better. Now, I'm living in a shelter, waiting for my forever home.Just a sweet puppy with a big heart waiting to give it to you wholeheartedly. I'm really smart and I want to learn how to talk to you in my own special way. You see, I am deaf. But that doesn't hinder me or the love I have to give.Probably because of the breeds in me, but I learn so incredibly fast. I'm already house trained, and I walk nicely on a leash too. Though I am still a puppy and act so, I am quite trainable. I enjoy learning new things and want to please you, showing how intelligent I am. Bet we could learn sign language together. I can be a tad shy to start, but quickly overcome that, especially with treats.I dream of finding a family who will love me just the way I am. I promise to be your best friend and bring lots of joy and snuggles into your life. If you're ready to give a deaf puppy like me a forever home, I'll be so happy! I'm really the mellow sort and am so loyal. My faithfulness shines through. You'll also see my silly side come out to amuse you. Mostly I just like relaxing in your arms getting snuggled. Health notes: I am deaf.I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, to a max of $300. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2323778##
