Story
. August 11, 2025 - Scout currently has a pending foster-to-adopt placement. The shelter is working with a family through multiple meet-and-greets, with the hope that Scout will soon transition into their home. About Scout Scout is an 9-month-old beagle mix who is gradually learning that the world can be a safe and positive place. After a challenging start in life, he has shown remarkable resilience and continues to make small progress as he builds confidence in his surroundings. Scout has started to enjoy gentle indoor play and is becoming increasingly comfortable with familiar people, revealing a sweet, affectionate, and curious personality. Once he trusts someone, Scout enjoys being close to them and seeks comfort from his trusted humans. While Scout has made great strides in his health and meeting new people, he remains very fearful of walks, unfamiliar environments, and new experiences. The outside world can feel overwhelming for him, and he greatly struggles with going on walks. He tends to thrash on leash and attempt to retreat to his safe spaces. In our care he has been working on desensitizaton but its been a very slow process. Training & Support Scout will benefit from patient, reward-based training focused on building trust, confidence, and positive associations with new experiences. A predictable routine, calm environment, and gentle encouragement will be essential. Scout will thrive with consistent, low-pressure interactions and enrichment activities. Because of his sensitivity and fearfulness, Scout is looking for an very experienced adopter who understands shy or under-socialized dogs and is committed to helping him progress at his own pace. Ideal Home Scout is best suited to a quiet, stable home where he can continue to build confidence gradually. His adopter should be patient, compassionate, and experienced with fearful or sensitive dogs, recognizing that trust and progress will take time. To set Scout up for success, he requires a home with direct access to a secure outdoor space and minimal barriers between his living area and the outdoors. In addition, Scout would greatly benefit from living with a confident resident dog whose behavior he can observe and model. A low-traffic household with a calm environment will help Scout feel secure as he settles into his new life. He will need a family that celebrates small victories and allows him to move at a pace that feels comfortable for him. In return, Scout is sure to reward that patience with his gentle nature, growing affection, and unwavering loyalty. With the right support, he has every opportunity to blossom into a devoted and loving companion. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ready to Apply? We are currently boarding Scout to support a local rescue organization that also provides ongoing support to us. While they work to secure a foster placement for him, Scout is staying in our care. Story
Hi! My name is GOJI (although my name in Korea is "Ohgong"), and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Beagle / Jindo Mix (best guess, really!) Age: approx. 5 years (Est. DOB: January 2021) Gender: Male Weight: 36 lbs (16 kg) Height: 45 cm (ground to shoulders) Length: 80 cm (nose to butt) Current Location: SOUTH KOREA RESCUE STORY – I was found on the streets of South Korea when I was about 3 months old,  along with my five siblings. We were taken to a high-risk city shelter but thankfully, a rescue team swooped in and saved us just in time! After my initial rescue, I spent some time living with other puppy friends at a local shelter. Then, from June 2023 to April 2026, I had the wonderful opportunity to live in a foster home! I have truly loved my time with my foster family and learned so much about living happily with people Now I’m back at the shelter, waiting to find my furever home in Canada! TEMPERAMENT – I am a sweet, calm, and gentle boy. I can be a little shy around men at first and may take a bit longer to warm up to them but overall I’m friendly and loving, even with new people! I really enjoy being pet and spending quiet time together with my humans. It's always important to think about "breed need" when considering adoption! While our breed mixes are always a “best guess”, please keep in mind that: Jindo's often bond hard and fast with one person and may take a bit longer to warm up to others. Jindo's are often quite skittish and can be picky about food (although all things improve with patience and time!). Beagles are renowned for their friendliness, loyalty and gentle nature, but they can also be vocal and highly scent-driven. They often make fantastic family companions, however, their strong prey drive, vocalizations, and independent streak require consistent, patient training. ENERGY LEVEL – Medium / Low. My rescuer says I’m a pretty chill dude. I’m usually calm and relaxed at home, but I do enjoy playtime, my squeaky toys, and a good run around at the park (video)! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. I’ve been okay with kids in the past, though I tend to be more indifferent than playful. I think I would prefer a home without children – more attention for me hehe! As with all dogs, I should be supervised if around children and should have my space advocated for by adults.  Dogs – Good. While I’m very dog-friendly and don’t bark at other dogs, I prefer calm and friendly companions over overly energetic or dominant ones. I can get a little overwhelmed in a large dog crowd, but I am very gentle on a leash when saying hello to other dogs. Cats – Unknown. I may chase cats out of curiosity, but I haven’t shown signs of aggression. A kitty-free home is probably best for me! PREY DRIVE – I may chase small animals like birds or rodents if I spot them. I’m a beagle, what can I say?! I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Good. I’m a gentle and well-mannered walker! I stay in pace with my handler without pulling and respond nicely to cues like “Let’s go,” even when I’m busy sniffing – check out my skills in this video! I also like a good roll in the grass (video)… hehe! House trained – When I was living in my foster home, I was fully house-trained and was trained to go potty both outdoors and on pee pads indoors. Because I've moved back to the shelter, I may regress in my potty training a bit (because there's soo many doggos here!). With positive reinforcement and lots of bathroom breaks, I'm sure I'll relearn quickly in my forever home. Car rides – I’m pretty comfortable with car rides, and love going on adventures with my humans! Grooming – I handle baths and brushing very well, as you can see here. Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I tested negative for Heartworm and will be tested again before flying to Canada. I will have dental cleaning, if necessary, before flying to Canada. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax ($650.00 + 5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Toronto & Vancouver💟 💙 Name: Arte 💙 Gender: Male 💙 Age: Estimated 6 months old (born in February 2026) 💙 Weight: 6 kg / 13.23 lb 💙 Adogs News Account: @_adogs_ 1️⃣ Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped, and undergoing treatment for giardia. 2️⃣ Rescue Story * Arte was staying at the Gimje City Shelter. He was enduring the overwhelming heat one day at a time, but Adogs determined that it would be difficult for him to endure any longer and urgently rescued him. 3️⃣ Basic Information ❗️As a very young puppy, he may need training in areas such as separation anxiety, potty habits, nipping, whining, disorderly behaviors, howling, or barking. ❗️Because his parents are unknown, it is difficult to predict his final adult size, growth pattern, or shedding level. ❗️Puppies grow rapidly up until around 10 months of age, so his current appearance may differ slightly from his earlier photos. * With People: Quickly becomes curious towards strangers and approaches them. Is a bit uncomfortable with touch, but if you approach him slowly, he allows more intense physical affection and is even okay with being held. * With Dogs: Runs and plays energetically with the other dogs at the Center. Doesn’t show any aggression even if other dogs bark or growl at him. * With Cats: Unknown because he has not met a cat yet. * Separation Anxiety: Unclear, as he’s living in a group setting at the Center. Will need basic training in a home environment. * Potty Training: Is currently pottying indoors. He recognizes potty pads quite well, but he sometimes rips them apart. Will need basic training if his environment changes. * Hygiene: Doesn’t have experience with grooming yet. * Walks: Doesn’t have experience with walks yet since his vaccinations aren’t complete. * Car Sickness: Has a little bit of car sickness. * Biting: Doesn’t bite. May chew on his toys since he’s teething. * Barking: Doesn’t bark or whine. May need training in a home environment. * Likes: Likes eating treats. * Dislikes: Gets surprised or uncomfortable when touched suddenly. Is accepting of touch if you approach him slowly. * Personality: Is a bright puppy that loves running and playing with his dog friends. Quickly shows curiosity towards people and has a curious personality overall, so he accepts pets nicely as long as you approach him slowly.
