Story
Archie is a 1-year-old, 35 lb medium-sized Beagle mix bursting with energy, personality, and a very vocal enthusiasm for life. If you’re looking for a buddy who’s always ready for playtime and isn’t shy about letting you know it—Archie is your guy! He likes to bark… a lot. Think of it as his way of saying, “Hey, I’m here, and I’ve got opinions!”
Despite his spirited personality and high energy, Archie has a surprising love for curling up in your lap when the action slows down. He’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly—a true lap dog at heart with plenty of pep in his step. Archie absolutely loves being with his person and thrives on companionship. He’s looking for someone who can support his needs both physically and emotionally—someone who will enjoy an active lifestyle with him while also providing the love, structure, and reassurance he needs to feel secure and happy.
Archie would prefer to be the one and only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the attention and be the center of your world. However, he has done well with smaller canine companions that are similar in size, play style, and temperament. Any potential adopter with existing dogs in the home will consult with our behavior team to discuss Archie’s individual needs and ensure the best possible match.
Because of his energy and social nature, a meet and greet is required to make sure Archie is the right fit for your home and family.
If you’re ready for a lively companion who will keep you on your toes and your heart full, come meet Archie—he’s barking up the right tree!
------
Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
