If you're looking for a very happy dog who thinks every day is the best day ever, then you'll love Jessie! She is the happiest, friendliest, most social gal ever!!
Jessie is believed to be a Beagle / Vizsla mix, though we do not DNA test rescue dogs so her breed is an educated guess by the vets. Jessie is 1 year old, and full grown at just 37 lbs.
Jessie was surrendered to the shelter we partner with in New Mexico after being adopted as a puppy because she grew up and started trying to chase their cat. So Jessie does need a home without cats. However, Jessie is AMAZING with and LOVES other dogs, and kids (tested with kids 6+).

"This goofy girl is pretty perfect. She is totally house trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and has the perfect balance of play and relax. She's always ready to zoom around the yard and play with dog friends, but once she's burned off that excitement, she's just as happy cuddling on the couch.
Jessie really knows no stranger! She is so so so so friendly meeting new people, adults, kids, and meeting new dogs. She's a winner for sure!!!
Jessie would love and thrive in an active home with a fenced yard where she can play and run, and she would definitely love hikes and trail walks!"

We'd like to place Jessie in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Jessie is up to date on her vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is spayed.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out 400 dogs each year.
