Pickles is a 3-year-old Beagle/Boxer mix with a truly one-of-a-kind look — and a heart to match. Her soft, soulful eyes and gentle spirit tell the story of a girl who hasn’t had the easiest start, but who’s ready to soak up all the love she’s missed out on. Pickles is the definition of a velcro dog — she always wants to be close to her people, whether that means curling up beside you on the couch or climbing right into your lap for snuggles. When she gets excited, she breaks into the cutest little tippy-taps with her paws that are guaranteed to melt your heart. Pickles is lover of playtime and can sometimes play a little rough with people she trusts, but we think with a little training she'll be able to regulate that in no time. She’s friendly and social with every dog she meets and has a sweet, submissive play style that makes her a great companion for canine friends. Pickles is also wonderful with kids, but her prey drive kicks in a little too much when she's around cats, so she'd do best in a home without them. This smart girl is potty-trained, crate-trained, and knows her basic manners. She responds to her name and walks well on a leash. Pickles is both food- and praise-motivated, making her eager to please and a joy to train. Pickles would thrive in just about any loving home — whether it’s with another dog or as the center of attention — as long as she has her own people to love and stay close to. She’s a sweetheart through and through, just happy to be alive and ready to share that happiness with you. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’ll stick by your side through thick and thin, Pickles is your girl.

Meet Calvin! Calvin came to our shelter after being picked up by animal control in a neighboring town and going unclaimed. He is a sweet boy that we are estimating to be around 2 years old and he currently weighs around 45 pounds. While we do believe he could have some Hound in him there is definitely something else mixed in to give him his striking blue eyes and merle coat. Whatever his breed mix is he is definitely a handsome guy! Overall Calvin is very outgoing and seems to do well greeting everyone that stops to say hello to him. He could use some work on his leash manners and basic commands but that will all come in time once in a home with consistent training. Calvin would be the perfect fit for an active family that will take him on adventures to keep his nose and mind busy. Calvin's adoption fee is $200, and he is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and will receive monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention while in our care.
