Duke is a 7 month old male Beagle pup. Duke is handsome, has plenty of energy and love to give. He is not the best with kids as he likes to jump on them and stuff, but with the right guidance he could possibly get over that. He has the cute Beagle bark and likes to use his sniffer of course too! Our adoption hours are Tuesday-Friday 3-6PM and 1-5PM on the weekends. We are located in Burlington, Iowa. All dog adoptions include a health exam, Rabies, DHPP and Distemper vaccinations, Heartworm check, Sterilization and post surgical pain medication. All cat adoptions include A health check up, FLV and FiV screening, FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, sterilization with pain medications. Sara Lee-girl! What a DOLL! She loves to pretend like she's all shy and bashful but the second you start petting her, or give her a treat, she's as outgoing as can be! At about 5 months old, and sporting a solid 20 pounds, she's the definition of a companion pup. If Sara Lee could, she'd follow a person around all day, resting at their feet, or getting all the cuddles and kisses! That is unless there's a bone lying around, that is her #1 priority, though I can't be sure it tops love! Sara Lee excitedly greets with the invitation of belly rubs, and lots of tail wiggles. Occasionally perking her floppy ears up as much as she can, to show her curiosity with all that life beholds for her. Sara Lee will do AMAZING in just about any home, as she's crate-trained, and knows simple commands with luring of treats! She's smart, gentle, loving, and oh so cuddly!

This little girl is Jinnie. If she could talk, we are pretty sure she would tell us how scared she has been, that she doesn’t remember feeling safe, and is used to being hungry. Jinnie was found as a stray and it took the people who found her weeks to gain her trust so they could help her. She has so much love to give but it will take her time to feel safe in a new home. Jinnie needs an emotional support human willing to give her time to adjust. We think she is a Beagle and Rat Terrier mix. She is about 3 years old and weighs 21 pounds. Jinnie would like a reasonably quiet home where her people are around most of the time. She bonds to people pretty quickly and then follows her person everywhere. She has lost her people before and keeps really good track of them now. Jinnie does ok with calm dogs but it takes her a minute or two to figure out they aren’t going to attack her. She also does well with a confident cat. Jinnie requires a physically fenced yard. She is just learning to walk on a leash and gets scared easily. Jinnie doesn’t like being in a kennel and is left loose in her foster home. Jinnie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. Tracy is a 9-year-old Beagle mix that came to MHS as an owner surrender. Tracy is incredibly protective of her home and she has a congenital abnormality of her right front leg that will need proper management due to the increase possibility of arthritis.
