new bombshell has entered our shelter — meet the one and only Hawkeye! This sweet senior gentleman is ready to steal some hearts with his calm personality, charming looks, and years of wisdom. Hawkeye is calm, cool, and collected — the kind of dog who makes everything feel a little more peaceful. He is an absolute angel in the car and will happily settle in for a relaxing ride (preferably with a cozy nap included!). He’s also not your typical beagle; along with his unique black coloring, he’s a wonderfully quiet guy with no signature beagle serenades to report! This handsome senior enjoys a nice leisurely walk, is great on a leash, and is happiest when he can curl up with his people for some quality relaxation time afterward. He is in incredible shape for his age and has so much personality packed into his wise little soul. Hawkeye is dog friendly and isn’t afraid to let his canine friends know when they’re getting a little too close — he’s just a confident old man who knows his boundaries! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring calm, comfort, and plenty of love into your life, Hawkeye may be your perfect match.

I'm a sweet older gal. How I came to be a stray, no one knows, but here I am in my older years and homeless. I'd sure like to land with a family that knows the joy of an older dog and wants me to bring them joy. Is it you? Some pets are in foster homes or may already have visits scheduled, so appointments help ensure I’ll be available. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, and we welcome adopters from any state. We have access to a transport to Aurora, CO. POPPY loves to play and wrestle, she has not figured out yet how to get the ball but she trys. She loves her chew toys, is crate trained and doing real good on potty training and after a day of play and walking, she snuggles up to nap. SHE is a good girl. If you are interested in meeting/adopting Poppy, please fill out the adoption application on our website. www.foreverhomedogs.org Her adoption fee is $300All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.
