Story
Archie is a 2 1/2 year old beagle mix. He loves to run in our fenced-in backyard, and due to his beagle nature, a fence is a good idea. He likes to be with his two senior owners, that rescued him from the SPCA with almost no history. He needs some calm time (with treats) to meet new people, and then accepts them. Seems to be intimidated by large males, and is reactive with other dogs, but with patience, seems to be getting better. Archie does not settle in easy in a crate, and with our retired schedule is with us all the time. A busy, active household could be just what he needs, perhaps with kids and another dog. Archie loves his couch and lap time with family - and he loves treats. We give him one every time he comes back in the house. He will sit before he goes outside, and sometimes jumps straight up because he is so excited about going out. He loves rides in the car, and barks when he sees something and will “sing/hum” a lot of the time. He is a loving, loyal dog!

These pups are in Syracuse, New York too!

Story
Have you seen our Betty??  She is just the best!   Betty is a female Basset Hound mix that is estimated to be around 8-10 years old.  She was found roaming the streets alone by some good samaritans who took her into their home and even took the time to try and find her owners but they weren't succesful.  They even went a step further and volunteered to foster Betty until we could find her a forever home.  Unfortunately, finding loving adopters for a senior dog is sometimes very difficult.  We will not give up hope that there is someone out there or a special family that has a heart big enough to give her the love, attention and nurturing that she so very much deserves.  Let me tell you a little bit about Betty.  She currently weighs about 45 pounds, but the veterinarian feels she should be closer to 50 lbs.  Betty is crate trained and potty trained!  Unfortunately, she does not do well with cats.  We feel that Betty would do best in a home with no other pets.  Betty has proved to do well with kids ages 6 and up but she has not been tested around children younger than 6.  Betty enjoys going for walks, riding in the car and hanging out with her amazing foster parents.   She has shown some difficulty going up and down stairs so it is slow going sometimes but she eventually gets there!  She is very food and treat motivated and her fosters have been using a "slow" feeding dish to slow down her eating.  She is up to date with her vaccinations and is spayed.  If you are looking for a loving companion, please consider Betty. We know you won't be disappointed.  Betty's adoption fee is $200 which goes towards veterinary care up to adoption and fostering expenses. ##2469775##
