Story
Meet Stunning Stella – A Gentle Soul Ready for Her New Beginning! Stella is a 4-year-old (DOB May 14, 2021), 20 lb beagle who is just beginning to experience what a real dog's life should be. After spending most of her early years confined to a cage, she’s now discovering the world—and what a wonderful transformation it's been so far! In her loving foster home, Stella is getting to enjoy the simple joys she was denied for so long: the feel of grass, under her paws, the warmth of the sun on her back, and the comfort of a couch shared with people who care about her. With the help of her patient foster parents, she’s slowly blossoming into the dog she was always meant to be. Stella is: Quiet, low-key, and sweet-natured Friendly with other dogs Curious and observant, soaking up all the new experiences Loves being petted and touched -- a huge step for a pup just discovering kindness Quite the beautiful looking girl (don’t you think?) She recently had her first bath and was good as gold. She enjoyed being wrapped in a towel. She’s still unsure about treats and toys, but she's taking it one gentle step at a time. Things to know about Stella: She is a moderate shedder, as beagles are, so she’s not the right fit for those looking for a non-shedding dog. Her housetraining is improving, no accidents in the house provided she gets out on regular breaks. She sleeps peacefully in her crate through the night. She’s learning stairs and leash walking, both of which are new to her after a life without freedom. She would love a secure backyard where she can explore safely at her own pace. A calm, friendly resident dog could help her continue to build confidence, but it’s not required. Stella isn’t quite ready to play or engage with toys yet, so she’d do best in a quieter home—perhaps with older children who understand she needs time to grow into her full potential. Stella has a gentle spirit and a heart full of promise. She’s not a high-energy dog and isn’t looking for a jogging partner -- just a loving home where she can continue to learn what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. Stella will be visiting our vet on June 19 for a full check-up and to be spayed. While we won’t begin reviewing applications until June 20, you're welcome to apply now to express your interest. Don’t miss out on the chance to give this beautiful girl the life she deserves. With a little time and a lot of love, Stella is going to be an incredible addition to one very lucky family. Stella is being fostered in North Oshawa/Courtice area. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet Tere – A Sweet, Playful Soul Looking for Her Forever Home Tere is a 3-year-old, 39lb Beagle/Dachshund mix (with maybe a bit of Basset Hound in her too!) who has come such a long way since arriving from Mexico. She’s learning to navigate her new world and is blossoming more every day. This lovely girl enjoys the simple things in life – a cozy dog bed, a comfy spot on the couch, playtime with her ball, and a good walk where her nose gets to lead the way. She absolutely adores attention and affection, and you’ll see in her beautiful, soulful eyes just how thankful she is. Personality & Training: Tere is currently working on building her confidence, especially on leash. Street noises and new people or dogs outside can be a bit overwhelming for her. To support her, she’s been working with a trainer and has a dog walker to help show her that leash time can be fun—not scary. She’s food-motivated, and when it comes to meals, she does best being fed separately from other dogs (which is a good practice in general). She's made amazing progress and continues to thrive with routine, patience, and positive reinforcement. TERE is very well behaved when left alone and is satisfied with a few toys to keep her company. Tere would benefit from continued gentle training and structure. She gets along well with other dogs and would do great either as a solo dog or with a calm, friendly dog companion. Exercise & Daily Life: Tere enjoys her daily walks and is making progress with her leash skills. She’d thrive with an adopter who’s active and patient, or even with the support of a dog walker.. She’s on a bit of a health journey too—already losing 4lbs with more progress to come! Tere’s Dream Home: In a dream world, Tere would have a well adjusted dog sibling to show her the ropes—but that’s not a must. She would be just as happy as an only dog soaking up all the love. She’s full of heart, eager to please, and ready to bring joy to a home that can offer her patience, love, and a bit of structure. Ready to Meet Tere? If you’ve got a fenced yard, a quiet home, and a heart ready to help her continue to shine—Tere might just be your perfect match. TERE is being fostered in Waterloo. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! He’s sweet, energetic, and endlessly charming—just the companion you’ve been searching for!Dobby has shown positive interactions with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine friend in the home. A meet-and-greet is required to ensure it’s a good fit. He has not yet been tested with cats.Though he’s a happy and social pup, Dobby is still learning his leash manners and tends to pull with enthusiasm—he just can’t wait to get where he’s going! With some consistency and positive reinforcement, he’ll learn to walk politely and channel his energy in more structured ways.Training & Behavior Needs:Eager and Energetic:Dobby is a classic Beagle—curious, lively, and always ready to follow his nose. His energetic nature makes him the perfect dog for an active household. He’ll thrive with a daily routine that includes physical activity and mental stimulation.Leash Manners:Currently, Dobby is working on improving his leash skills. He’s goofy, full of energy, and always ready to embark on the next adventure—whether that’s a long hike, a backyard play session, or a cozy nap after a day of excitement. He would do best in a home that can offer structure, regular activity, and lots of positive reinforcement.
