Story
Pepper is a 2-year-old, 25-lb mixed breed sweetheart with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up, her happy, outgoing personality shines through. Pepper's favorite place to be is right by her people’s side—whether that’s hanging out at home or playing with her toys. She is house trained and crate trained, and can comfortably be crated during a typical workday. Pepper has a medium energy level—she will happily join you for activity, then settle in for cuddle time. Her leash manners are still a work in progress but she’s eager to learn with a little patience and consistency.Pepper does well with other dogs and kids, while her experience with cats is still unknown. She’s adaptable and could thrive in an apartment or a home with a yard. Grooming is simple, just regular brushing and the occasional bath. What makes Pepper extra special is her silly side—she gets adorable, random bursts of energy that are sure to make you smile—but at the end of the day, all she really wants is love and companionship. Pepper would be a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal, affectionate best friend. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Thyme 10 years old • Beagle Mix • FemaleThyme may be a senior, but she’s still got plenty of spunk and charm to share! This sweet old gal loves life’s simple pleasures—rolling in the grass, flopping on the carpet for a good wiggle, and soaking up belly rubs.Thyme is a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, kids, and adults alike. She’s mostly blind, but she navigates well in a well-lit space and doesn’t let it slow her down. Short, easy walks are just her speed, and after some activity she’s content to rest and observe the world around her. She’s not the snuggliest pup, but she more than makes up for it with her gentle personality and funny little quirks. At night, Thyme sleeps soundly, and during the day she’ll clearly let you know when it’s time for a potty break.Because she can be a bit of a talker—especially when she’s feeling a little confused or just wants to share her thoughts—an apartment might not be the best fit. A home where her voice won’t bother the neighbors would be ideal.Thyme is a truly wonderful girl, full of character and heart, who’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and love to her forever family. Could that be you?Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Story
Meet Benji!Benji is a 1-year-old, 20-lb Beagle mix with the sweetest, slightly timid personality and an adorable underbite smile. He warms up quickly and loves attention—he’ll roll right onto his back for belly rubs! He’s crate trained, house trained, and learning his leash skills. Outside he gets a little distracted (puppy brain!) but he’s very smart and eager to please. Benji loves running around the yard and playing with toys, and he’d be happiest with a playful dog friend to romp with.Benji is great with other dogs. He isn't aggressive with cats, but he doesn't seem to be too comfortable with them either. He would do well with kids who can respect and be comfortable with his puppy energy and eagerness. A home with a yard and daily walks/mental stimulation would help him thrive. He’s food-motivated, so basic manners training will be easy.If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, affectionate pup with tons of potential—Benji is ready to be your new adventure buddy!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Meet Lucy Lucy is a total heart-stealer—super cuddly, endlessly loyal, and always thrilled to see her people. She’s been doing great coexisting with respectful big dogs, small dogs, and a cat. At the dog park, she enjoys the vibe but prefers the small dog area, as big dogs playing too close can be a bit overwhelming for her. This girl has amazing recall—she comes immediately when called—and sticks right by your side, making her a perfect off-leash hiking buddy. Lucy would also be an incredible work-from-home or shop dog. She happily hangs out while you’re on your laptop and then follows along to “supervise” in the workshop Lucy is eager to please and already showing how easy she’ll be to train. She responds right away to “no,” is learning to walk nicely on leash, and clearly just wants to make her humans happy. We suspect she may have some herding dog in her—she likes to circle and make sure her whole pack is together (and it’s so cute). She can be a little shy at first with new people, but once she warms up, she’s all in—expect her to follow you everywhere and wag her tail anytime you even look at her If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, velcro-dog best friend… Lucy might be your girlVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 29, 2026, 10:55 am
