Story
🐾 Meet This Wonderful Beagle Boy Sheldon! 🐾 At 8 years old, this handsome guy has perfected the art of being easygoing, entertaining, and just a little ridiculous. ❤️ He’s incredibly tolerant of other dogs and happily lets his canine friends carry on with all their shenanigans and roughhousing without joining the chaos. He’s basically the guy saying, “You all have fun. I’ll be over here.” 😂 And then there’s mealtime. 🍽️ The second he realizes food is coming, you’d think he hasn’t eaten in approximately 47 years. He’s up on his hind legs, bouncing around like a lunatic… only to be presented with ordinary kibble. The disappointment in his eyes is priceless. Apparently, he was expecting a five-course meal. 😂 He’s got that classic Beagle charm: expressive, food-motivated, affectionate, funny, and full of personality. He’s past the puppy nonsense but still has plenty of character to keep his future family laughing. If you’re looking for an easygoing older guy with a great sense of humor and some very high culinary expectations, this lovable Beagle boy might be your perfect match. ❤️🐶

Story
Indiana Jones seeks an experienced and active dog adopter to take him home. This adolescent boy shows many of what we would call “herding” behaviors. In his prior home, he would be nippy with the children of the household, and herd them around; classic behavior for the herding breeds. We have been channeling his herding desires into more appropriate pastimes, such as using a herding ball in our yards. He has no prior experience with felines, but with his desire to herd, he should go to a cat free home. In his prior home, he did ok with another canine friend, but he has not been open to other dogs while here with us, so we feel he sound be the only pet in his new home. Indiana, while looking for his next adventure, does not handle car rides without an upset stomach, so he seeks a homebody, not a world traveler. He can be a little cautious meeting new humans, but once he sees you are safe, he warms right up. Indiana Jones really needs a home that can provide lots of outlets for his high energy, and someone who will continue working with him with positive reinforcement training. He is doing great with his leash walking, and is eager to learn; this is a dog you could have a lot of fun with, learning new skills and games!A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Indiana Jones`s $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Indiana Jones.

Story
Meet Cici, Eumy’s tiny little sister and the smallest of all 12 siblings. At 2 months old, she weighs just 2.5 lbs — but this teeny girl has an enormous amount of love to give. Cici and her 11 siblings were found tucked into the rocks of a beach in Puerto Rico, trapped inside a little beach cave with the tide coming in. Rescuers climbed down into the rocks and pulled the babies out one by one before the water could reach them. Cici was the littlest of them all. And this girl is an absolute human lover. Cici loves, loves, LOVES people and would happily spend her entire day being carried around in someone’s arms. She is incredibly sweet, cuddly, affectionate, and just wants to be as close to her humans as physically possible. If there is an available lap, Cici plans on being in it. Based on her size now, our vet’s best guess is that Cici will stay under 25 lbs fully grown, but with rescue puppies, adult size is always a bit of a mystery! Cici is currently in Puerto Rico and is already on the docket to head stateside to a foster home — unless her forever family finds her first! Cici was almost washed away before her life had even begun. Now all this tiny girl wants is exactly what she loves most: a human to hold her close and never let her go.
