Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She warms up to women a little faster than men, but she's learning that everyone in her foster family is there to love and care for her. Layla is adorable when she plays with her toys! She's good with other dogs and is learning that playing with them is fun! She appears to be housebroken and crate-trained already! Layla is looking for someone who will give her the patience, love, and reassurance she needs as she continues to come out of her shell Adoption fees are $350 unless otherwise stated. Senior dog adoption fees are $200. 100% of adoption fees are put back into the rescue so that another lonely and neglected dog can be rescued. We are grateful for your interest. Upon approval, the adoption fee is non-refundable. The fee includes the following: de-worming; heartworm, lymes, ehrlichia and anaplasmosis testing; all vaccinations including rabies; flea and tick treatment, microchipping and spay/neuter. Rex is a loving, 4-year-old Beagle/Australian Shepherd mix (53.3% Beagle/47.7% Australian Shepard) who weighs about 33 pounds and is looking for his forever home. He enjoys meeting people and giving hugs and kisses, but he needs time to build trust and has important boundaries. Rex should be the only pet in an adult-only home. He is protective of food, toys, and people, and will do best in an environment where he does not feel stressed about needing to share them with other dogs. Additionally, his personal space must always be respected as he has a history of reacting to being startled while sleeping. When given the opportunity to approach people for affection rather than being approached, he is a wonderfully, loving boy. Rex needs an experienced, dog-savvy adopter—ideally someone familiar with herding breeds and resource guarding—who can provide consistent structure, training, mental and physical enrichment, and predictable routines. He must be allowed to settle in at his own pace, which may take months or longer. With patience and commitment, Rex has the potential to become a trusting, wonderful companion; he has already made strong progress with a knowledgeable foster. We are seeking an adopter in Virginia or the surrounding area.
