Story
MEET DARLA! Darla is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old purebred Doberman Pinscher. (Purebred verified by DNA testing). She is elegant, pretty and very affectionate -- and she gets along great with other dogs. Darla was rescued from a crowded California shelter, and now is a big favorite with volunteers, who call her a "real sweetheart". She is a well-behaved girl, but is quite strong, and will pull when she sees squirrels on a walk! Darla is in good health. She dos have a small lump on her underside, but this has been vet-checked and determined to be a benign fatty tumor, not a source of potential trouble. Darla will be totally devoted to her person. She is a gem and whomever adopts her will be very lucky. She weighs about 65 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M PHOENIX! I'm a handsome and healthy 10-year-old Rottie-Dobie mix in need of a foster or forever home. I lost my previous foster home due to no fault of mine, and I really miss having people around to snuggle and take me for walks and other outings. A little bit about me: I was rescued from a shelter a couple years ago, where I was a shelter favorite, and am currently waiting for someone to adopt me. I weigh about 80 lbs. Despite my age, I am active and I'm a very loving dog. I'll do well with an active person or people who can take me for walks and hikes. I have many positive traits - I am affectionate, I walk well on a leash, and I am a loyal and sweet dog. I will be your best friend for life. I also prefer to have my person or people around, but that can be expected of most dogs! I am not a barker unless it is warranted. I can also be a bit protective of my people and our property, which can be a good thing. While I get along with dogs I know (especially female dogs around my size), I can be reactive on a leash toward dogs I don't know. However, I really do like female dogs - I currently love to hang out and go on walks with my girlfriend Darla, a Doberman. And I love human attention and affection - I am affectionate and caring. I'd do well with a strong owner, too. Please email for an application. I'm currently still in Southern California, but can be transported to Idaho.

Meet Zippy: Your New Best Friend! If you’re looking for a dog that is "just right," look no further. Zippy is a stunning German Shepherd mix who clocks in at a perfect 45 lbs and stands 21 inches at the shoulder—big enough for a sturdy hike, but small enough to not take up the entire sofa. Why You’ll Love Him: The Entertainer: Zippy is a world-class athlete when it comes to squeaky toys. He loves to toss them high into the air and catch them himself! He’s also a dedicated fan of fetch. The Travel Buddy: He rides like a total dream in the car. Whether it’s a trip to the coffee shop or a cross-country road trip, he’s ready to buckle up. The Gentle Soul: Generally a quiet guy, Zippy saves his voice for the best parts of the day. You’ll get a signature "woo woo woo" greeting when he wakes up or when you walk through the front door. The Shadow: He’s the ultimate companion. He’ll happily snooze at your feet while you work, but the moment you get up, he’s right there to follow you to the next adventure. The Details: Social Skills: Dog-friendly! Leash Manners: He walks very well on a leash, though he’d appreciate a little "fine-tuning" as he learns your specific pace. Garden Duty: Zippy takes his outdoor chores seriously—he likes to personally double-check that every tree and shrub in the yard is "sufficiently watered." Brain Power: He already knows several basic commands and has those dazzling eyes that make it very hard to say no to one more treat. Zippy is the perfect blend of playfulness and chill. He’s just waiting for a person to follow and a yard to patrol.
