Story
Let’s be honest... who wouldn’t want a dog named Happy?
Happy is an almost 3-year-old, 60-pound mixed breed, possibly a Black Mouth Cur/German Shepherd mix, and he’s got the personality to match his name. He’s handsome, athletic, affectionate, smart, and just an all-around fun guy.
Happy is the kind of dog who is ready when you are.
Want to go for a long walk? He’s in.
Planning a hike? Grab his leash.
Want to throw a ball around the yard? He’s already waiting.
Want to binge-watch TV afterward? Excellent—Happy is also very skilled at relaxing.
He’s fully housebroken, walks nicely on leash, and knows sit, stay, come, leave it, and down/off. And because treats are basically his love language, he’s always up for learning something new.
Happy currently lives with two other dogs and enjoys having canine companions. A playful dog who wants to run and wrestle would be a great match, but Happy could also happily be your one-and-only best friend. He does think squirrels and rabbits are highly suspicious, though, so a cat-free home would suit him best.
One of the coolest things about Happy? He knows how to roll with it.
He recently stayed with another foster family while on vacation and handled the whole experience like a pro. Different house? No problem. New people? Bring them on. New dog buddy? Even better.
He settled in, had a blast, and showed just how adaptable and confident he has become.
And when the day winds down, Happy doesn’t need constant entertainment. He’s perfectly content to hang out near his people, nap while you work, or stretch out beside you while you watch TV.
Basically, he’s the dog who can keep up with your adventures AND your lazy Sundays.
So why is this happy guy still waiting?
Maybe because his person hasn’t found him yet.
Could that person be you?
If your idea of the perfect dog is part athlete, part comedian, part cuddle buddy, and 100% loyal companion, Happy would like to meet you.
