Story
Meet Gypsy — a 12-year-old, 50 lb German Shepherd mix with soulful brown eyes and a heart full of love.   Quick Facts: Name: Gypsy Breed: German Shepherd Mix Age: 12 years old Weight: 50 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: No (doesn’t need one though) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Hasn’t been tested Good with Kids: Yes Energy Level: Low (couch potato extraordinaire) Fence Required: No   About Gypsy’s Breed: Our best guess is that Gypsy is a German Shepherd mix. Senior German Shepherds are loyal, intelligent, and affectionate companions who mellow with age, becoming calmer and more easygoing. While they may slow down physically, their devotion and protective nature remain strong, making them wonderful pets in their golden years. Despite entering the senior phase of their lives (between 7-10 years old), German Shepherd retain their wisdom, loyalty, and gentle temperament, often becoming more relaxed and less energetic than in their younger years. With proper care—like a senior-friendly diet, gentle exercise, regular vet visits, and a comfortable environment—they can continue to thrive and bring immense love and companionship.   Gypsy is the definition of a perfect lady. She’s potty trained, calm, and trustworthy in the home without a crate. At an adoption event, she charmed everyone she met, soaking up pets and attention with her gentle nature. She adores children, gets along wonderfully with other dogs (including her foster siblings), and with her easygoing personality, she’ll likely do well with cats too.   Gypsy’s Glowing Highlights: House trained, no crate needed Dog- and kid-friendly, loves everyone she meets Gentle energy, enjoys slow walks and cozy naps Loving companion, happiest on a comfy bed or cuddled beside you Low maintenance, easygoing and well-mannered Ideal home: a calm, loving household where she can feel safe and cherished   Gypsy may not chase balls anymore, but she gives something far more valuable—unconditional love and companionship. With her warm brown eyes, gentle spirit, and affectionate nature, Gypsy is ready to spend her golden years as your devoted cuddle buddy and loyal friend!   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Beckham is a three-year-old, 55-pound, German Shepherd and Black Mouth Cur Mix. FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED. Beckham is 3-year-old German Shepherd and Blackmouth Cur who weighs 55 pounds. If football icon David Beckham had a dog, we’re pretty sure he’d be a lot like our Beckham. With his classic British name, his ruggedly handsome face and those ever- alert ears, Beckham is an up-for-every-adventure kind of boy. Like his soccer-legend namesake, Beckham just naturally draws a crowd of admirers. Affectionate, playful, brave, and loyal, this smart boy is always ready for a game of ball, a good walk, a spin in the car or just a snuggle on the couch. With so much goodness in his nature, you might ask, “What is Beckham best at?” The answer is simple: Beckham is best at being your Best Friend! And while Beckham can be perfectly content with just you, he will also thrive with an active family, a big, fenced yard and (if it’s not too much to ask) a playful lady dog. Trained by one of the best, Beckham is an absolute joy and had excellent house, crate and leash manners, as well as basic commands and overall happy behavior. So, if you’d love a bit of British flair and fun in your life, please don’t wait. Come meet Beckham today. And let the games begin! Beckham is not part of CrisisDogsNC. This is a courtesy posting on behalf of his foster. This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed and age assessments are based on visual appearances.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm
