Temperament & Personality
Matheo is a bright, high-spirited, and happy pup who lives for fun and adventure! He loves playing, running, and exploring — perfect for an active family ready to keep up with his puppy energy.
He’s smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn, making training both fun and rewarding. Matheo thrives with other dogs and would do best in a home where he has a canine companion to help channel his enthusiasm.
He adores kids — his rescuer is an 11-year-old girl, and thanks to her, he’s learned to be gentle, patient, and affectionate with children.
Because he was abandoned at 7 months old, Matheo developed some separation anxiety. He feels most secure when he’s not alone, so a home with another dog or someone home frequently is ideal.
He walks beautifully on leash, enjoys group walks with his foster friends, and rides perfectly in the car — the sweetest little adventure buddy!
Matheo’s Ideal Home
Matheo would thrive in a loving, active home that enjoys outdoor activities like walks, hikes, or backyard playtime. He needs companionship — either a friendly resident dog or a family member who is home often.
A home with kids or other playful dogs would be wonderful, as he absolutely lights up when he has company. Most of all, Matheo needs a family who will offer him structure, love, and the reassurance that he will never feel alone again.
Matheo’s Rescue Story
Matheo was found wandering the streets in heartbreaking condition — overlooked by everyone except one kind 11-year-old girl. While out with her mom, she spotted him weak, scared, and completely alone. She begged her mom to help, and together they brought him to safety.
They nursed him back to health, gave him love and care, and helped him heal from the neglect he endured. Though they wanted to keep him, they already had three dogs. With heavy hearts, they reached out for help finding Matheo the forever family he deserves.
The little girl has only one request: that Matheo’s new family share updates so she knows he’s safe, loved, and finally home.
