If love an independent natured dog, Pearl is your girl! This a low-maintenance girl who doesn’t want to be your shadow but will make you feel loved just the same. Not being the attention seeking type doesn’t mean she lacks charm though- from her looks to her easy-company, she has plenty of charm for someone who appreciates her low-key style. You were surely drawn in by her eyes, one sparkles blue and one is warm brown. She is really striking and stands proud which makes her a gorgeous scene. Plus, she has the cutest fluffy tail. In the same way people can be described as introverts and extroverts, it is very similar for dogs. If we were going to define her as one or the other, Pearl is an introvert. A self-confident introvert with great social skills who prefers to take things slow basically. With dogs, she enjoys a good romp. Her foster has shared that the dog she enjoys most is an especially big male who enjoys playing rough-and-tumble but takes breaks and is just as happy to wander around with her in the yard. Pearls ideal home would include a yard and I would even call her a yard explorer, she loves nothing more than just putzing around the yard checking out the garden, watching the birds, and occasionally making a bid for someone to play with her. She knows how to keep the peace but has motherly energy in larger groups of dogs, almost like she is sets the tone of keeping it light-hearted. No cats for Pearl though, she has the idea that cats don’t like her so she decided the feeling is mutual. She would definitely try to chase a cat if the occasion arises and cats sure do hate that. Pearl is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 64 lbs. She is in the phase of life where dogs settle into themselves which is overall marked with the easy-days. She is crate-trained, loves car rides, and is equally motivated by treats and a good “attagirl” amount of praise. Pearl will likely give her new family a touch of her introverted personality as she warms up to a new home but a little patience is all it takes for her. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. Meet Joe! The cutie boy with the floppy ears! We aren’t sure if he just hasn’t grown into their pointy potential or if it will be his signature trademark, but he definitely has a face and personality that you don’t want to miss out on! Joe is a shepherd mix who we believe is just around a year old! He weighs approximately 48 pounds and is still growing! Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. But one thing is for sure, Joe’s cool as a cucumber personality is something that you are going to want to experience first hand! When he first met our resident pups, he was shy, and allowed them to investigate him as he quietly stood there. But as soon as Camo, our confident playful male pup invited Joe to play, it was game on! Pretty soon Joe was playing with the whole pack of pups in the yard and having the best time! He currently lives with numerous foster siblings of various ages, sizes, and breeds and would do well in a home with medium energy, playful pups who will allow Joe to get used to his new normal. When it comes to cats, Joe is a chill guy, but very interested in feline friends. He doesn’t live with any cats, but when he met our housecat Biggie, he gave him lots and lots of cautiously curious sniffs. It was actually the most interested I had seen him the entire visit! As sweet as Joe is, due to his peaked interest in kitties, it would be best if he was in a home with no cats. We understand the importance of precious personal space for our kitty friends. Joe got very excited when he met Blaze and Xen (9)! He perked up those cute floppy ears and his tail began to wag! There was just something so special to him about being around kids who wanted to feed him treats and give him love! We believe that Joe would do great in a home with older children who want to have a pal to grow up with and play with in the yard! If you appreciate the softer things in life, then you will definitely love our friend, Faith. Faith is the type of girl who makes beauty out of the mild glimmers of the world. Her eyes are soft and hold a depth that you can’t help but want to discover. Even her ears flop a bit and showcase how wonderfully unique and special she is. We believe that Faith is around a year old and a shepherd mix of some sort. She weighs approximately 46 pounds and is a growing girl. She has the most beautiful earthy soft color palate of a coat. She's a moment of fresh air and sweetness. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But nevertheless, Faith is a girl that you definitely want to meet! She’s definitely a polite girl who doesn’t want to come across as overbearing or desperate for attention. She observes new humans respectfully for a moment before letting her true, beautiful personality shine. And accepting gentle love to match her gentle energy. What was a beautiful thing to experience was watching Faith blossom when the other dogs came into the yard to meet her. The timidity slowly melted away and her playful nature came out to shine with tail wags and a game of follow the leader! Faith lives at home with a variety of foster dog siblings of various ages and breeds and sizes. She’s definitely a dog’s dog and would do well with other medium energy dogs that will give her the moments she needs to bloom in her future home. When it comes to cats, Faith is calm but very interested in feline friends.
