Story
We rescued Zelda from the shelter shes only a year almost two years old. She is a ton of energy and super clingy. She is so smart and funny, loves to play non stop and will tear up a toy like nobodys business. She does great around our four year old and other dogs but its war when she sees a cat haha. Should she get sad or get groomed, she complains and sounds like a husky talking and whining. Our apartment complex sold to new management and we no longer are able to keep her, along with work schedules changing drastically, we dont have the time with her either. She just needs someone who will have more time than us and patience, and ability to keep up. Shes a great bestfriend or family dog! We love her dearly!

Story
Meet Maple!Maple is a sweet, senior Belgian Malinois, approximately 8–9 years old, with a gentle and sensitive soul. She can be very timid and shy around new people, likely due to a history of limited positive interactions with humans. Maple needs a calm, patient adopter who will allow her to move at her own pace and build trust on her terms. Once she feels safe, she enjoys peaceful walks and rolling in thick green grass.Unlike many Malinois, Maple is medium to low energy and prefers to keep to herself rather than engage in nonstop activity. She has been introduced to other dogs and does best with calm, respectful companions. She may correct overly pushy or high-energy dogs and can show mild leash or fence reactivity, but responds well to consistent verbal corrections. Maple would thrive with someone experienced with shepherd breeds and structured, consistent training. If introducing another dog, a meet-and-greet is recommended, though she is likely happiest as the only dog in the household.Maple has special needs—she is heartworm positive. Dogs with heartworm disease can live happy, high-quality lives with proper care. Heartworm positive dogs have just as much love and companionship to offer as any other dog and deserve a chance at a forever home! By adopting Maple, you are truly saving a life.Ask staff about the Stormie Rain Heartworm Fund and what assistance may be available to help with her heartworm treatment.Maple is ready to find a calm, loving home where she can feel safe, cared for, and truly cherished.ADOPTION PROCESS: The adoption process is simple and straight forward.Pre-Screening Adoption Application here: https://tinyurl.com/adoptfromHSCCOur receptionists can usually approve/dis-approve your application same day. Once approved and everyone is in agreeance with the decision being made you then are able to pay your adoption fees. Adoption contract will be signed. If the pet has not been spayed/neutered or current on rabies vaccination prior to adoption, the pet you wish to adopt will not be able to go home same day as it's adoption day. We will schedule the next available appointment day & time - you will be informed with further directions/instructions at that time.  We hope this answers any and all questions you may have regarding the adoption process.

Story
Meet Marino!Marino is a stunning 6-year-old Belgian Malinois who thrives with structure, consistency, and an experienced handler. She would do best with someone who has shepherd experience or knowledge of the Belgian Malinois breed. Marino is strong on walks and responds well to consistent management and training.Marino enjoys an active lifestyle and would do best in a home with a set routine and a backyard—she is not suited for apartment living. She loves interactive games like fetch and tug-of-war, and needs outlets for both physical activity and mental stimulation. She’s highly food-motivated, learns quickly, and already knows some basic commands. While Marino has been introduced to other submissive dogs, she can be pushy and dominant, so a meet-and-greet is recommended if there is another dog in the home. She is likely best as the only dog in a household. Marino also has a high prey drive and is not recommended for homes with cats or livestock.Marino bonds quickly and deeply with her owner and enjoys affection and being close. She is also a fun, adventurous companion for someone interested in a “weekend warrior” dog—perfect for hiking, traveling, or even trying dog sports. With the right home—structured, active, and experienced—Marino will be a loyal, loving, and engaging partner for all of life’s adventures.ADOPTION PROCESS: The adoption process is simple and straight forward.Pre-Screening Adoption Application here: https://tinyurl.com/adoptfromHSCCOur receptionists can usually approve/dis-approve your application same day. Story
Abe is truly a goofy, good boy- he’s sweet, obedient, runs everywhere, and is a true cuddle bug. He’s needing a loving home to move into, as we are unable to keep him for the foreseeable future. He is intact & 9 years old, but still had the playfulness of a puppy. He’s well taken care of, and loves everyone. He’s good with other dogs and kids, and is pretty timid. He’s good on & off leash, loves taking a walk or just chilling on the porch, and knows all the basic commands (sit, stop/stay, excuse me, roll over, paw, jump/up, come here, etc) He is currently enrolled in a WellnessPlus plan with Banfield Pet Hospital though September
