Story
Jade is our stunning middle aged (around 6 years old) female who is available on foster to adopt basis. She has just started her heartworm treatment so for now, she needs to stay close to our veterinarian in Volusia County. Our rescue is financially responsible for all costs associated with the treatment. Jade is the perfect blend of intensity and affection. True to her Malinois nature, she is alert, intelligent and always focused. She is always ready for a new task or adventure. She thrives on structure and would do wonderfully with an experienced owner who appreciates her drive and sharp mind. At the same time, her softer side melts hearts. She is very affectionate with people, leans in for love, rolls on her back, sits on your lap and enjoys every moment by your side. Malinois experience is required. Jade is also semi trained and has a solid foundation, making her a great candidate for continued training or agility, once she is done with her heartworm treatment. In order to meet her, you must review our fostering/adoption requirements and if all met, send in an application via our website at www.dbgsdrescue.org Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
Captain is a sweet, affectionate, people-loving dog looking for a stable forever home. I am currently in the military and may be deploying soon. With my schedule getting increasingly busy, I cannot give him the consistent time and attention he deserves long-term. Captain is about 7 years old, healthy, and up to date on all shots. He has a medium energy level, does not bark, and loves affection. He is great with kids and enjoys walks and car rides. He does not tear up the house. Training: crate trained, housebroken, and knows sit, paw, and lay down. Dog friendly: he does well with smaller dogs and has lived with two smaller dogs for the past two years. With dogs his size, he needs a proper introduction. He is not aggressive, he just loves to play and can be overly enthusiastic at first. Captain comes with a crate, 6-inch memory foam bed, food container, bowls, toys, rear-seat cover, and a pet grooming vacuum.

Princess is a sweet, shy girl who loves to run and play. She has a good nose on her and loves sniffing around and exploring. She loves cats and is respectful of their space until they get used to her. She does get shy around bigger dogs but when she gets used to them she loves to play. Princess is very protective and is a great guard dog. She does well with kids and she doesn’t bite. She will tell on the other pets or people in the house if they’re doing something she thinks is against the rules or if another pet is in danger. She is super sweet and a big baby who loves treats and gets excited for new toys and her crate is her safe space and she occasionally lets the cats hang out in there with her. She needs someone who loves being outside and loves to cuddle and is patient with her shyness.

Zax is a 4.5 year old plush coat male who is heartworm positive and at this time, only available on foster to adopt basis in Volusia and Flagler County. He has to complete his heartworm treatment at our veterinarian in Ormond Beach and the rescue is covering all expenses associated with it. Zax has a heart full of love. He is incredibly sweet and gentle, and absolutely adores curling up on the couch for a good snuggle session. If you're looking for a loyal companion to watch TV with, he is your guy! He can be a bit shy around men at first but with patience and kindness, he warms up and shows his true affectionate personality. Once he trusts you, he will be your shadow quietly following you around and happily soaking up all the love you're willing to give. Zax would do best in a home that understands his sensitive side and is willing to give him the time he needs to fully blossom. He is crate trained, housebroken and just the best boy ever.
