Story
Steffi is a 5 month old Belgian Malinois mix looking for a forever home with a family that understands and appreciates the characteristics of the breed. Mals are highly intelligent and eager to work and Steffi needs a home that will provide her with structure, training, exercise and daily mental stimulation (breed experience is required). Although very cute and super sweet, she will not be the right fit for every household. Steffi will require a significant commitment to training and mental activity so she can function perfectly as a family pet, while bred to be a working dog. She is currently in a foster home in Port Orange, where she gets socialized with other dogs daily. Already crate trained and housebroken (pending spay surgery at the end of June) and ready for meets and greets. Her adoption fee is $300. If interested in meeting Steffi, please review adoption requirements on our website first. www.dbgsdrescue.org

Story
Everly is a 12-year-old Belgian Malinois with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. Don’t let her age fool you—she still has plenty of energy for walks, playtime, and spending time with the people she loves. She’s incredibly loyal and thrives when she’s included in the family’s daily routine. She’s fully house-trained, knows how to live comfortably indoors, and has wonderful manners around the home. Everly enjoys being active but is just as happy relaxing beside you after a fun day together. She forms strong bonds with her people and is looking for a family that will give her the love, attention, and stability she deserves. Like many Belgian Malinois, she’s intelligent and benefits from regular exercise and mental enrichment. She would do best with someone who understands the breed or is committed to keeping her engaged. Rehoming Everly is an incredibly difficult decision, and my only goal is finding the right home where she’ll be cherished for the rest of her life.

Story
Captain is a sweet, affectionate, people-loving dog looking for a stable forever home. I am currently in the military and may be deploying soon. With my schedule getting increasingly busy, I cannot give him the consistent time and attention he deserves long-term. Captain is about 7 years old, healthy, and up to date on all shots. He has a medium energy level, does not bark, and loves affection. He is great with kids and enjoys walks and car rides. He does not tear up the house. Training: crate trained, housebroken, and knows sit, paw, and lay down. Dog friendly: he does well with smaller dogs and has lived with two smaller dogs for the past two years. With dogs his size, he needs a proper introduction. He is not aggressive, he just loves to play and can be overly enthusiastic at first. Captain comes with a crate, 6-inch memory foam bed, food container, bowls, toys, rear-seat cover, and a pet grooming vacuum.

Story
I am a gentle girl who has been through a lot but still has so much love to give. I came here to the shelter after being rescued from a hoarding situation where I spent much of my life in a crate without the care I deserved. When I arrived at the shelter, my skin was in rough shape from neglect - but I have been healing and improving every day. You probably noticed I am missing a leg... but don’t worry! I’ve learned that three legs just means I have one less thing slowing me down when it’s time for cuddles. I may be a little different, but I get around just fine, and my heart is just as big as ever. I am very sweet, affectionate, and easygoing. I love attention, lean in for pets, and just want to be close to people who will love me back. More than anything, I’m ready to trade my hard past for a future filled with comfort, kindness, and love.Weighs around 59 lbs - Good with other dogs! - Treat-motivated, walks great on a leash, & very affectionate!

Story
I acquired Daisy as a puppy from a co-worker. She is 3 years old. At this time my son and daughter were living with me, along with my grandkids but have moved out so I am looking to downsize to a condo immediately. Daisy is very lovable and thinks she is a 80 lb lapdog but is also a good guard dog too. She has high energy and is very strong and needs someone that can give her the attention she needs such as walking, playing fetch, running etc. She love being outside and enjoying nature as well as being inside. She loves kids but can be a little intimidating to smaller children because she is so big and clumsy. I have arthritis and my balance isn't the best so she is just too much for me to handle now and since I'm hopefully moving to a condo soon I will not be able to keep her. She was spayed at Pet Smart and goes there for grooming but may need to be updated on shots. I'm looking for someone who can give her more time and attention than I am able to now. Thank you ❤️
