Story
Up until now, Lola has had a very rough life. She's now learning that it is ok to come inside and be part of a home. Lola is a super sweet girl. She is missing all her front teeth besides her canines from being chained up and chewing - she is not a fan of being locked up, because she was chained and penned her whole life and it makes her panic. She just needs a family who will give her all the love she deserves. She is fine with other dogs and respectful kids. She knows how to use the doggie door and roams our 8 acres with horses, goats and pigs and does not jump or dig. She will truly make someone an amazing companion.SGER FAQs:We are a 501c3 non profit rescue.Your information in our application is not shared and is protocol for adoption. Story
Meet Bunny, she is a husky mix with a whole bunch of energy who is always ready to go. Bunny is still a baby and is most likely not even a year old yet. She came from the Jesup animal control with her bonded buddy Hughy, they were both owner surrenders and waiting on death row before we had the chance to pull them. She is very vocal and will cry for you any time you leave her alone. We are currently teaching Bunny her manners and how to follow basic commands such as sit, shake, lay down, and much more, because we see so much potential for her ability to learn! She's a smart cookie. Bunny is potty trained, leash trained, good with our kids, and good with our other animals. She is just a rough player and bigger animals will probably be best. As much as she wants to run she's doesn't mind getting on the couch to lay around and cuddle either, she is a lap girl for sure and ready to find her forever home with all the love she could dream of!We are a 501c3 non profit rescue.Your information in our application is not shared and is protocol for adoption. Story
Holmes was brought in when his owner was no longer able to care for him. He and his companions were unfortunately not socialized or given the care they needed. Consequently Holmes will need an adopter with patience and understanding to show him the world is not a big scary place. He does really great with people and other dogs, but everything else is scary and new for him. Despite his isolated start in life, Holmes is surprisingly trusting. He also arrived with a severe skin infection which is now doing great! Holmes is microchipped and current on core vaccines. Sadly, he was heartworm positive when he came in, but will be treated here by our veterinarian. In the meantime, he is available as a foster to adopt. Email reception@hsscg.org for an appointment or more information, or stop in Tuesday through Saturday 11 to 4.

Story
Brownie has an interesting back story. She was pulled by a rescue in the Texas/Louisiana area 2 days before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Brownie was then transported to us. While she was in route we learned that she was expecting puppies. Needless to say, that was an exciting surprise. Brownie gave birth to 9 puppies while she was here. Wow. The pups are in new homes and now it is time for Brownie to have a wonderful life and family of her own. She is potty trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. We will require a meet and greet with any potential housemates. We are not sure how she does with cats, but can test her upon request. Sadly, Brownie was heartworm positive on arrival. Happily, she will be treated here by our medical team. In the meantime, Brownie is available to go home with her adopter as a foster to adopt. What a great way for you to bond with each other while she undergoes treatment. Of course a big plus for Brownie is getting to recuperate in a home with people who love her. Email reception@hsscg.org for an appointment to meet her or just stop in. We are open 11 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday.. Brownie is spayed, microchipped and current on core vaccines.
