He is incredibly smart, active, loyal, and eager to learn—and once Hobbes decides you’re his person, he forms a very strong bond. Hobbes is crate-trained, house-trained, and has been doing great with obedience training. He thrives with both physical and mental outlets and would love an active home where hiking, fetch, outdoor adventures, training, and having a “job” are part of everyday life. Hobbes does well with other active dogs but is not a fan of children, so an adult home will be the best fit. He can also be cautious with new people and prefers that strangers admire him without approaching or petting him. Hobbes will need slow introductions. Hobbes will do best with an experienced Malinois or working-breed adopter committed to providing structure, exercise, continued training, and mental enrichment. For the right person, Hobbes can be an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. He isn’t looking for everyone to love him—he’s looking for his person.

She’s a young dog with so much potential, but she needs the right person who understands the commitment involved in raising and training an energetic, physically strong dog. Haddie needs structure, consistency, boundaries, and continued training. She is still learning basic obedience, appropriate manners, and potty training. Her future adopter must be patient, confident, physically capable of handling her strength, and committed to providing clear expectations and daily guidance. Haddie is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions. However, she is still learning to respect their boundaries and may push them, so she will need continued guidance and supervision during interactions with other dogs. Petunia is a sweet, loyal 9yo German Shepherd/Heeler mix looking for a quiet, adult-only sanctuary. Originally from the Blackfoot Animal Shelter, she has lived a sheltered life with her family for 6 years. At home, she is an absolute princess who loves her toys and has great puppy energy! Due to a past history of severe abuse, she has complex trauma. She is house-trained, has a decent recall, and ignores strangers in neutral public spaces. However, she has severe territorial aggression at home. She barks and charges at strangers or anyone showing fear, including children. If a stranger approaches calmly and without fear, she warms up quickly. She will also escalate if another dog growls, so she must be the only pet (no cats/dogs). Our housing situation has become untenable, and we can no longer manage her space. She needs an experienced, patient handler who understands rescue trauma. Vet records/spay certs available. We can hold her while screening.

Duke is a young energetic German Shepherd. Duke loves to go jogging, hiking and playing fetch. He especially loves to play with squeaky balls and can drive you batty with how much he likes to make it squeak. He also enjoys going in the river and would be a great camping dog. Duke is a very intelligent dog and loves to train. He is food motivated and loves to please his human so training is a joy. Although he already has a great recall, also the sit, stay, wait and down command he will need an owner that will practice this with him daily. Duke needs mental stimulation to stop him becoming bored. If he gets overly bored he will find something to do, and it may not please his owner. Duke also has the ability to open any door, so the doors that lead outside should have the ability to be locked. Duke is friendly to everyone that he meets and greets strangers politely. At the end of the day Duke loves to snuggle with his owner. Duke is dog friendly but he might be a bit too much for a senior dog. He doesn't care for small, yappy dogs on his walks. Duke doesn't like cats. He is good with children but we are recommending a home with older children because he can get amped up when small children start screaming and running around. Duke would not be a good candidate for an apartment, townhome or patio home. He needs a large fenced yard or acreage to run around on. Duke is looking for an active person or family to share his life with. A German Shepherd savvy owner. Someone committed to continued training to make him the best dog that he can be. Duke is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 75lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
