Story
Thanks to a generous sponsor, the adoption fee has already been paid.So with an approved application you can take this doggy home for free!Griffin is a male German Shepherd mixed doggie who is about 1 year old. Before coming to the shelter, Griffin lived with children and even shared his home with Chihuahuas, so he has experience being part of a busy family environment. Sadly, he was surrendered due to his owner’s health, through no fault of his own.Griffin is the kind of dog who loves to make people smile. Whether he’s showing off his silly side or soaking up attention from his favorite humans, he’s always ready to brighten the day. He’s now looking for a loving forever home where he can continue being the fun, loyal companion he was meant to be.Thanks to a generous grant from the Pedigree Foundation, Griffin is part of our Diamond in the Ruff program—a special initiative that helps dogs continue building the skills they need to succeed in their forever homes. We know that many wonderful dogs simply need a little guidance, consistency, and understanding to truly shine. When Griffin is adopted, we won't just send him home with a "good luck." We'll provide his new family with the training tools, resources, and support they need to help him continue growing into the amazing companion we know he can be. We want both Griffin and his adopters to succeed together.Behind every Diamond Dog is a heart of gold, and Griffin is ready to prove that with a little patience, a little laughter, and a lot of love, he can become someone's very best friend. If you're looking for a goofy sidekick and are excited to help a young dog reach his full potential, Griffin is ready to meet you. Come see why we already know he's a diamond—you just have to help him sparkle. He is described as a 'Goofball'. I’m a fun-loving, happy-all-the-time, glass-is-half-full kind of dog looking for someone who loves to laugh and play around. Must have a great sense of humor and some time to spend with me. I’m a dog on a mission to please you. (Socially motivated). It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. We recommend crate training until you’re confident that your dog is used to his/her new home.
