Story
Meet Cairo (aka Big Dog) 🐾 Looking for a loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and professional Velcro dog all rolled into one handsome package? Meet Cairo — a 4-year-old neutered Belgian Malinois with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Cairo’s story started rough. He was found wandering the Texas countryside as a stray, severely underweight at just 50 pounds and too weak to stand. Today, this resilient boy has transformed into a healthy, happy 65-pound goofball who’s ready to leave the dusty roads behind and finally find his forever home. At first, Cairo can be a little reserved and cautious while he figures you out. But once you earn his trust, you’re officially his person. From that moment on, he becomes the ultimate Velcro dog — following you from room to room, leaning against your legs, attempting to climb into your lap like he’s a tiny puppy, and giving dramatic sighs if you leave him alone for too long. Like a true Belgian Malinois, Cairo is whip-smart, intensely loyal, and always ready for his next job — even if he occasionally invents one for himself. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you do, whether that’s hiking a trail, tossing a ball in the backyard, or supervising your every move around the house. Malinois fans know the breed’s magic: fierce devotion, incredible intelligence, and a bond that runs deep. Cairo brings all of that… plus a goofy streak that keeps life entertaining. He’s equal parts loyal protector and oversized clown. One minute he’s on neighborhood watch duty with his serious “I’ve got this handled” bark, and the next he’s prancing around with a toy in his mouth like the happiest dork alive. He’s expressive, hilarious, affectionate, and absolutely full of personality. The Good Stuff: Crate trained and happy to relax in his kennel Mostly house trained and learning routines quickly Dog-friendly with excellent play energy Smart, eager to learn, and highly trainable Loves tug, fetch, puzzle toys, and interactive games A Few Honest Notes: Cairo is looking for an adult-only home or one with older, respectful teens. Young children make him nervous, and he does best when his space and boundaries are respected. He also cannot live with cats, chickens, or other small animals due to his prey drive. What Cairo Needs: Cairo is looking for someone who appreciates everything that makes a Belgian Malinois special — intelligence, athleticism, loyalty, and that deep desire to be connected to their person. He’s not a “sit around all day” kind of dog; he thrives when he has structure, activity, and a job to do, even if that job is mastering puzzle toys or joining you on outdoor adventures. Give this boy guidance, consistency, and plenty of love, and you’ll get the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog people rave about. In return, Cairo will give you unwavering loyalty, endless laughs, and the kind of deep bond Belgian Malinois are famous for. If you’re ready for a smart, protective, hilariously clingy best friend, Cairo may be your perfect match. Apply today and give this big goofy boy the forever home he’s been waiting for. ❤️ Adoption only in Texas at this time $200 adoption fee

And I am not sure WHY, except I am a smart and busy boy. I would do best in a single dog home...one great thing about me is...you don't have to trudge me to the dog park.... i prefer to be at home with YOU. I am good with cats too!! Now, if you know the Belgian Malinois breed you will know that exercising my body is good, but it just makes me stronger and have more stamina ;) So you have to ALSO exercise my brain- that is the way to wear me out ;) Doggy puzzles, wearing a weighted backpack, all kinds of ways to do that! I love to be challenged and to LEARN what you want me to do to be your new bestest friend!! I want a really nice family who will hike, bike, run, swim with me too! I have a heart of gold and am ready to shine it right on your family, ADOPT ME!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

🐾 Meet Waffles! 🐾 Age: 3 years old Breed: Belgian Malinois Mix Status: Spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventions Waffles is a stunning, smart, and athletic Belgian Malinois mix looking for her forever family! At 3 years old, she’s past the puppy stage but still full of energy and enthusiasm. This girl is incredibly sweet and eager to please, but she will thrive best with a breed knowledgeable owner who understands both the mental and physical needs of a Malinois. Waffles loves a good game of fetch, and she’ll happily play for hours if you let her. She has had professional training, which makes her a fantastic partner for someone who enjoys structure, exercise, and continued learning. Her trainer is also willing to work with her new adopters should they like to continue her training. Like many Malinois, she has prey drive and will definitely keep the squirrels out of your yard. With cats, she’ll need slow, careful introductions. If they run, she may want to chase. She does well with other non-dominant dogs, but proper introductions are important to set her up for success. If you’re looking for a loyal, athletic, and intelligent companion who will love adventure as much as she loves downtime with her people, Waffles could be the perfect match. 💌 Could Waffles be your new best friend? Apply today and give this amazing girl the home she deserves! $200 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas) $450 Out of State Fee (includes transportation to your area)

Story
Meet Mallory, a stunning Belgian Malinois Mix born in July 2017. Mallory has faced challenges in the past that have made her cautious around people, but this has only made her more appreciative of those who show her kindness. While she may take some time to build trust, her loyalty and intelligence shine through once a bond is formed. Mallory is open to the idea of sharing her forever home with a furry companion or two, with the condition that introductions are done thoughtfully to ensure a harmonious living situation for all. While she welcomes the company of dogs, Mallory prefers to be the sole focus and would thrive in a household without human or feline siblings. Are you prepared to embrace this bright and perceptive girl into your family? Take the first step by submitting your application today and discover the true meaning of loyalty! All dogs adopted through Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue receive the invaluable benefit of lifetime free behavior training from our skilled Positive Reinforcement/Relationship-based trainers. For a seamless and successful transition, Mallory will be enrolled in training sessions at the time of adoption and will continue with scheduled sessions post-adoption to ensure her continued growth and well-being. The suggested adoption donation for Mallory is $250. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
