Hi, I'm Luna! My rescuer found me outside a Walmart parking lot, hungry, injured, and confused. I pulled back my ears, gave him my "puppy eyes" look, and asked him to scratch my belly. It worked! I was rescued and soon was getting fed, watered, and loved. I'm mostly Belgian Malinois with probably a dash of German Shepherd. My attitude is mostly Malinois, but I'm able to relax a bit more than a pure Mal. My foster dad says this is a good thing because I can rest while he works. When I'm let out, I show my real energy! I love to run around in the yard and chase the squirrels back into the trees. I won't let those squirrels come anywhere near the ground! Back and forth from tree to tree like a jet plane! I'm a quick study for obedience, agility, and nose work. I've learned to find gloves anywhere in the backyard and little bags of spices anywhere in the house. I've learned sit, stay, down, touching a target stick. The more puzzling the challenge, the better! My injury has healed and now I'm learning an agility jump, too. I love to play tug of war and fetch, but my Malinois drive sometimes makes me lunge and I have a hard time giving up the balls and ropes. My foster dad is teaching me and I'm slowly learning, but my family will need patience, understanding, and consistency. I want to learn and am eager to please! I like to hike and walk, and I do well with my harness. I would be an ideal dog for anyone who wants to get into canine activities like scenting, agility, obedience, or anything else! I would be great for a hiking enthusiast, too. But I can also be a family dog as long as I get lots of training, walks, and backyard play. I am a Malinois at heart, so I need a main human willing to spend lots of time with me. To that human, I will give so much attention and devotion! I will always be ready for activities, but my foster dad is also teaching me an off switch so I will be able to live in a family home. Please Note: We are always selective about applications, but with this breed, we are tenacious. This breed requires an owner who knows how to provide both mental and physical stimulation — every single day. These are not first-time dog owner pups. Sheeba is my name and I am quite the celebrity around here :) Let me tell you all about it... have a seat and grab some tea. I was living on the streets with a gang of friends... found by a rescuer we were being fed but there was no room to put all of us. Of course, I was pregnant and after I gave birth the rescuers were afraid with all the storms that my babies wouldn't survive out there. So the pound was called, and let me tell you....I WOULD HAVE PROTECTED MY PUPS WITH MY LIFE........ of course, that is deemed "aggressive"and after my two day stray hold I was going to be euthanized and my puppies sent to rescues to bottle feed and raise up :( But MY rescue said, UH UH... She comes with the pups.... and they MADE IT HAPPEN! Now, it wasn't easy but I settled in to the routine and learned my caregiver's names and soon enough I was eating out of their hands. And they learned some neat but sad things about me.... I belonged to someone who trained me....... it is sad because no one has any idea where that person is nor why I was living on the streets :( Also, I am a very smart girl so I am also very sensitive to change....but, with my pups grown and adopted, I am now a model citizen at the rescue. Look at my video....I had JUST met the trainer that day and she absolutely fell head over heels for me. Now I am ready for you, I will complete your family. I am still working on my other dog skills and would probably be best where I can be the only dog and give you all my love. I am a gorgeous girl, my coat resembles a Belgian Shepherd's and I have GSD face and mannerisms. So if you want to adopt me, you must love and understand the working breeds. We need an outlet for our drive and you have to provide that to give me a great balanced life. I am ready, I hope you are too!! Freide was training to be a police dog, but failed because she was to passive and could not concentrate. She is very ball focused, so she listens well when you have a ball in your hand, other then that she is very stubborn. I would be weary to have her around children at her eye level. Also other dogs she gets along with if they have her energy and like to play. Elderly animals she fights with because she climbs all over them. She is a great dog, she is potty trained, crate trained, will chew on stuff. Will play fetch and run marathons, would be perfect for a single man who needs a companion, that’s when I got her, now I am married with a child on the way and she is to rough around kids.
