Hello world. Our names are Demi (F) and Russell (M). We are barely over a year, nearly did not survive as younger pups, and then given the gift of love and kindness. So, here we are today. Our mom did not survive the cruel owner. But dad was his pride and joy, a large Belgian Malinois. Our owner did not care if we lived or died. At one point our littermates were coming down with parvo. This person did not care that our littermates were suffering. This very kind lady was persistent (all 5 feet tall). She came day after day until one day she told them she wasn't going to stand by and let us die too. Demi had all but given up. She was too weak to walk. The owner surrendering them loaded us up in her minivan. After a lot of TLC (tender loving care), medicine, and time, we came back to life. Today (08/13/2024), we do not slow down for pictures. We slow down enough for treats, dinner, and getting into our playard. We love all sizes of other dogs, we have been exposed to cats but have too much energy and love of life to say we are cat social. We love people, sort of leash trained, crate trained and for the most part house trained. We do get in a whole lot of playing and forget to go to the door. Our ideal home is active. Older children would be good. Have time to make us a part of your family. We want to please you. We are not a bonded pair. We would do great with or without another dog as company. Meet Kodak!Kodak is the president of Goofy Ears R Us and he takes his role very, very seriously. Which is good because he takes absolutely nothing else in life seriously.A young lab mix at about seven months old, Kodak is FULL of life and energy. He WILL need training, of course, as he's (literally) a puppy with little to no manners. We're teaching him what we can at the shelter but he's going to need consistency so his training WILL need to be continued in his forever home. He's about 46lbs right now and will probably be around 55-60lbs when full grown.Kodak LOVES other dogs. Like, he is obsessed with them. His enthusiasm knows no bounds so he can be a little much for older dogs that have zero patience for shenanigans or for more introverted dogs that want NO part of his nonsense. But a dog that will match his energy? It will be comedy hour 24/7. We would prefer not placing him with cats because he does not understand angry cat language and he WILL instigate like a teenage boy.He also loves people. He's an extrovert to the extreme. He loves getting attention, loves being involved in whatever it is you're doing, and loves playing with toys. He's definitely got mouthy puppy energy (again, he'll need training) so we would recommend older kids (12+) or an adult only home until he's learned his manners.He DOES have skin allergies so adopters will need to stay on top of monitoring his skin and seeking vet care when necessary.To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Hello. Our names are Nadia (F), Kinsey (F), Nathan (M), and Skeeter (F). Our rescuer was told our mom was a Belgian Malinois and dad was a Border Collie. We were born on July 8, 2023. We were turned over to the rescue lady when we were babies. There were eight of us. Not long after arriving, we started to get sick. We four were and are the healthiest. When we were out playing in the yard, she often asked us where the babies went, who was sweet and shy. Who switched them out of your energizer bunnies, then laughed as we ran around like crazy kids? We are brilliant, treat motivated (easy to train), sulk when scolded, crate trained, shy at first but warm up quickly, not house or leash trained (quick learners), like cats, submissive to other dogs, and have never been around children. Our foster mom has commented how wonderful we would be on an agility course.  I want to go hiking, go to the beach, run around on snow deeper than I am tall, curl up with you in front of the fireplace, and watch a movie. I have only heard my foster mom talking about most of this stuff. If you have patience and teach me, I will love doing whatever you do.
