Meet Kuda 🖤
Kuda is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois who has had a tough turn of events, but we know his perfect person is out there.
Kuda originally came to Claws & Paws as an 8-month-old puppy and was adopted into a loving home where he spent nearly two years being cared for, spoiled, and truly loved. Unfortunately, life circumstances outside of his family’s control changed. His mom was an over-the-road truck driver, and the company she worked for made the decision to implement a “no pets” policy in their rigs. With no other safe option available, she was faced with the heartbreaking decision to bring Kuda back to us.
While this wasn’t the ending anyone wanted, Kuda is now looking for a new home that understands him and can help him thrive.
Kuda has a lot going for him! He is house trained, crate trained, enjoys car rides, walks nicely on a leash, has lived around other dogs, and knows some basic commands. He’s a smart, loyal dog who bonds deeply with his people. But Kuda is also a true Belgian Malinois, and that means he is not a dog for just anyone.
Belgian Malinois are incredibly intelligent, driven, and athletic dogs. They were bred to work, and they need more than just love and a backyard. They thrive with structure, consistency, mental stimulation, training, and a relationship built on trust and communication. Without the right outlet, their intelligence and intensity can become challenging. They need someone who enjoys working with their dog and understands that a Malinois is a lifestyle, not just a pet.
Kuda can be an edgy guy. He is defensive of his personal space and does not appreciate being reached for or having someone invade his boundaries. He needs someone who will respect his communication, advocate for him, and take the time to build a relationship at his pace. He isn’t looking for someone to “fix” him — he’s looking for someone who understands him.
With the right person, Kuda has the potential to be an incredible companion. He needs structure, stability, and a dedicated owner who is willing to continue building a working partnership with him. Someone who enjoys training, adventure, and having a loyal sidekick by their side may be exactly what Kuda needs.
A few fun Kuda facts: he is a fan of car rides, enjoys his walks, and… he may have a bit of a wild side. He is a fence climber, so a secure setup will be a must. He also has a completely understandable fear of ceiling fans (we promise he has his reasons 😉).
Kuda isn’t looking for just any home — he’s looking for the right home. The person who sees his potential, respects his boundaries, and is ready to give him the guidance and stability he deserves will have a truly special dog by their side.
