Story
Penny is approximately a two year-old German Shepherd and/or Belgian Malinois mix who had a hard start at life, fending for herself as a stray. She has transitioned to an indoor dog perfectly. She is house trained and crate trained, and has discovered the joy of sleeping in bed. She is a normal/medium energy level right now. This may increase as she gains some weight and resumes a normal body condition. Although she appears to be a working breed cross, she currently doesn't show any drives and would thrive in just an active pet home.  Penny listens very well, is very smart and a very quick learner! She did not get to enjoy puppyhood to the fullest, so she still has some puppy tendencies like jumping when excited that should be expected.  Penny is currently living with 6 other dogs ranging from 7-45lbs and is very dog friendly!  Adoption Application: www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt  ************************Penny is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt Adoption process:Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved. From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption. Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption. ##2630269##

Story
We got Bear as an 8 week old puppy. He has been a really great dog and is super smart, we just live in a small subdivision without a fenced in yard and have busy schedules. We ignorantly got him without knowing how much work and attention Malinos/Shepherd mixes need because they’re so intelligent and we’d just like to rehome home with someone who either has land and will utilize him to care for that or someone who has a freer schedule and the ability to give him the mental stimulation he needs! We currently have 3 children aged 4, 11, and 15. He’s great with all of them! He has never been aggressive or hurt anyone in that way. He is fully crate and potty trained. He loves playing fetch and WANTS to learn, we just have a busy schedule and don’t always have the time to give him the attention and training he deserves and needs!

Story
Stella is a wonderful 4-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a calm, gentle soul. She is spayed, completely healthy, and fully up to date on all vaccinations. Full veterinary records will be provided. She has basic obedience training, is fully crate trained, and is reliably house-broken. Stella overall demeanor is very calm and submissive, and she settles nicely in the home. She enjoys spending time with her people and loves getting outside especially for hikes and outdoor adventures. Due to a recent incident of aggression toward another dog in my family's household, Stella needs to be rehomed as the only dog. For this reason, she would do best in a home where she can be the sole pet and receive focused attention. An ideal home for Stella would be a loving family with a fenced backyard where she can run, play, and explore. She thrives with space and would be a great companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle but also appreciates a calm, well-mannered dog at home.
