Story
June has been a well-loved part of our family for a long time. She is 5 years old and is a fun-loving dog who loves people! She has a lot of energy and loves to be outside. She’s a great dog to take on the kayak in the river, on an hike, or just to hang with you at a brewery. Ideally, she would find another family who loves to be outside and has a big yard. She listens well and won’t run away while off leash. She loves to play with other dogs, but we ran into problems with her and our other female dog. She has no issues with our male dog and she has never had problems with other female dogs she has played with. In fact, my parents have a small female dog and they are best friends who like to play together nonstop! June is protective over us and the house, so that is a plus too! June is crate trained and has no issues being in it. She is a really sweet dog who is happy to curl up next to you on the couch. Please feel free to reach out! 828-467-3325

Story
Hi there — I’m Bart! A big, handsome mystery mix with the colors of a Rottweiler, maybe a German Shepherd… or possibly an Australian Kelpie. Your guess is as good as mine! All I know is I turned out pretty darn good-looking.When I first meet someone new, I like to play a little hard to get. I might give you my best “who, me?” shy glance and pretend I’m too cool for ear scratches — but don’t let that fool you. Underneath my calm, cautious start is a total snuggle bug just waiting for the right person to earn my trust.I came to the shelter as a stray, so my past is a bit of a mystery. But I’m not one to dwell on old stories — I’m focused on the next chapter. I’m ready for a family who sees the soft side behind my handsome face and gives me a comfy couch (and maybe a squeaky toy or two).If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate buddy who might just need a moment to warm up before committing to full-on couch snuggles, I think we’d make a perfect match.Love,Bart

Story
Meet Tigger — part athlete, part bodyguard, part goofball. Tigger is a nearly 5-year-old, 110-lb Dutch Shepherd looking for a new home only because we’re moving to Portugal and he’s too big to fly. Tigger is high-energy, outdoorsy, and stupid loyal to his people. He loves to stay active and takes his role as “family protector” very seriously. Leash skills are a work in progress (think enthusiastic freight train), but his heart is always in the right place. He’s famously brave — he’s treed a bear and has valiantly battled chainsaws and weed-whackers to protect his humans. Underneath the tough guy act is a fun, expressive dog who bonds deeply with his people. Tigger does well with larger dogs, but no small dogs please (our corgi would agree). He has some food-guarding habits, so he needs a confident, experienced owner. Best fit: active home, strong leadership, big-dog lovers only. Tigger isn’t just a dog — he’s a legend in a fur coat.
