Story
Stella is a wonderful 4-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a calm, gentle soul. She is spayed, completely healthy, and fully up to date on all vaccinations. Full veterinary records will be provided. She has basic obedience training, is fully crate trained, and is reliably house-broken. Stella overall demeanor is very calm and submissive, and she settles nicely in the home. She enjoys spending time with her people and loves getting outside especially for hikes and outdoor adventures. Due to a recent incident of aggression toward another dog in my family's household, Stella needs to be rehomed as the only dog. For this reason, she would do best in a home where she can be the sole pet and receive focused attention. An ideal home for Stella would be a loving family with a fenced backyard where she can run, play, and explore. She thrives with space and would be a great companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle but also appreciates a calm, well-mannered dog at home.

Story
Meet Fae, a beautiful 4-year-old German Shepherd mix (with a little mystery mixed in too!) who weighs about 65 pounds. Before coming to HCAS, Fae hadn’t experienced much one-on-one attention—but she’s making up for lost time in the sweetest way. With every pet and gentle scratch from our volunteers and staff, she’s discovered just how wonderful love and affection can be. Fae has blossomed into a total sweetheart who adores attention and is eager to please. She’s learning to walk on our trail and proudly struts along, just like the other shelter “yahoos” who can’t wait for their turn out!Who’s going to be the lucky one to give this affectionate girl the home she’s been waiting for? Stop by and meet Fae—you might just fall in love.

Story
Meet Tigger — part athlete, part bodyguard, part goofball. Tigger is a nearly 5-year-old, 110-lb Dutch Shepherd looking for a new home only because we’re moving to Portugal and he’s too big to fly. Tigger is high-energy, outdoorsy, and stupid loyal to his people. He loves to stay active and takes his role as “family protector” very seriously. Leash skills are a work in progress (think enthusiastic freight train), but his heart is always in the right place. He’s famously brave — he’s treed a bear and has valiantly battled chainsaws and weed-whackers to protect his humans. Underneath the tough guy act is a fun, expressive dog who bonds deeply with his people. Tigger does well with larger dogs, but no small dogs please (our corgi would agree). He has some food-guarding habits, so he needs a confident, experienced owner. Best fit: active home, strong leadership, big-dog lovers only. Tigger isn’t just a dog — he’s a legend in a fur coat.
