******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Sarge is a neutered 2 year old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix currently being fostered in Denver, CO. Sarge is an outgoing, playful, and affectionate boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun. He is smart, curious, and full of energy, and he thrives when he has opportunities to play, explore, and be active with his people. Sarge loves other dogs and is always eager to make friends. He will happily nudge a dog to invite them to play and enjoys running and tug of war, especially with dogs his size or larger. While he gets excited and may pull toward dogs on leash, he is not aggressive and does well with slow, proper introductions. He is great at picking up on cues and will back off when another dog is done playing. Sarge has a moderate to high energy level and would do best in an active home. He would love daily walks, hikes, playtime, and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be a big bonus, but he could also thrive with a family committed to keeping him exercised. He would do well with or without another dog in the home. On leash, Sarge could use some continued training. He is strong and tends to pull, but he responds well to guidance and does great with a gentle leader. He is fully house trained and crate trained, sleeping in his crate overnight and when his people are out. He can also be trusted with free roam, as he is not destructive. Sarge is a total lovebug with people. He is very cuddly, affectionate, and happy to greet new friends, though he may jump a bit when excited. He loves toys and proudly hoards them, lining them up one by one like treasured possessions. One of his cutest habits is doing a full somersault onto his dog bed after running inside. Sarge would be an amazing match for an active person or family looking for an adventure buddy. Older kids or dog savvy children would be best since he can be jumpy when excited. With continued leash training, plenty of toys, and lots of outdoor time, Sarge will be a loyal, joyful companion. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him? Contact my foster at abbyb1010@gmail.comNara is a young, energetic Malinois with an amazing personality! She does wonderfully with other dogs, loves to play with toys, and adores cuddling with her humans. For anyone who’s familiar with Belgian Malinois, Nara is truly a standout — smart, playful, and affectionateImportant Note: Nara must be in a cat-free homeHas shown reactivity around other dogs due to stress; she needs to decompress and then benefit from slow proper intros. She has shown positive behavior around a dog outside of the shelter, in a home environment.Loves cuddles and interactive play with peopleExtremely intelligent and energeticNeeds a cat free homeNara would thrive with an adopter/foster/rescue experienced with high-energy working breeds who can give her the exercise, structure, and enrichment she needs. She’s an incredible dog for the right placement!

Story
Lucia, a sweet 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix, is so ready to be done with motherhood and move on to her new life! She's been a wonderful mama to her sweet pups, and now it's her turn to be the baby of the home. She gets along with other dogs, ok with cats and sweet with everyone she meets. This breed is very smart, headstrong and athletic-- and they can be challenging! Lucia will be happiest in an active home with people who will put time into training, exercise and mental enrichment. Lucia would be great at dog sports! Lucia is vaccinated and will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
Penny is approximately a two year-old German Shepherd and/or Belgian Malinois mix who had a hard start at life, fending for herself as a stray. She has transitioned to an indoor dog perfectly. She is house trained and crate trained, and has discovered the joy of sleeping in bed. She is a normal/medium energy level right now. This may increase as she gains some weight and resumes a normal body condition. Although she appears to be a working breed cross, she currently doesn't show any drives and would thrive in just an active pet home.  Penny listens very well, is very smart and a very quick learner! She did not get to enjoy puppyhood to the fullest, so she still has some puppy tendencies like jumping when excited that should be expected.  Penny is currently living with 6 other dogs ranging from 7-45lbs and is very dog friendly!  Adoption Application: www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt  ************************Penny is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt Adoption process:Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved. From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption. Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption. ##2630269##
