Meet Maxine Maxine is a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois who came to us from an overcrowded shelter, and like many dogs of her breed, the shelter environment has been tough on her. Malinois are incredibly intelligent, active, and sensitive dogs who thrive with structure and purpose—something that’s hard to find in a kennel. Because of that, Maxine would truly benefit from finding her forever home as soon as possible. Since arriving with us, Maxine has already shown just how adaptable and sweet she is. She’s settled in nicely and has calmed down significantly, allowing her loving personality to shine through. This girl is an absolute sweetheart who adores squeaky toys, lives for a good game of fetch, and will happily do just about anything for a tasty treat. Maxine does well meeting new people, though she may bark a bit at first as she figures things out. Once she knows you’re a friend, she warms up and is eager to connect. Important Adoption Information: Maxine will only be adopted to applicants with approved applications, and homes must be appropriate for her breed and needs. Belgian Malinois require experienced, committed owners who understand their energy level, intelligence, and drive. Adopters will be carefully and thoughtfully hand-selected to ensure the very best fit for Maxine’s future.

Meet Scott! 🐾 Scott is an adult German Shepherd with a very sweet heart and a very smart mind. He knows basic commands like sit and enjoys learning and engaging with his people. Scott loves going on walks, playing games, and will happily invite you to join in on the fun. When playtime is over, he’s just as happy soaking up affection, especially pets and belly rubs. With his loyal nature and playful spirit, Scott would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for both an active and affectionate best friend. Scott is a mix of two working-breed dogs, which means he will likely need ongoing training and consistent mental stimulation throughout his life. He did begin basic obedience training through our prison program; however, his strong dislike of golf carts caused his training to end earlier than planned. Scott will thrive with a confident, experienced handler who understands the needs of working breeds—both mentally and physically—and can provide the structure, engagement, and guidance he requires to succeed. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. I have not met a more social pup than Sahara! This girl is all about having a good time with her humans and doggies :D She greets you with a jump or a hug. If you lower your face to hers, she thinks nothing of lathering your face with kisses. She also loves to randomly hug you. She is adoringly affectionate! Sahara is the same with dogs. She loves all dogs. She gets into crazy plays with them. She has been known to shape shift through openings in fences or gates to play with the neighborhood dogs :/ She has a love for exploration. She must be a Sagittarius 😊She has a mostly reliable recall so that’s a huge relief! On walks, she pulls initially because she is so excited to be out and about, but she does calm down minutes into the walk. She loves her walks. This girl is a natural explorer. She is a curious girl. Sahara is indifferent to toys. She prefers to be engaging with her humans and doggie friends. She gets excited when you get excited even though she has no idea what the excitement is about. She hops around like a crazy girl because you are happy about something :/ Sahara takes treats nicely. She sits and waits for them. Sahara does well in a crate. She keeps a clean crate. Sahara is about 2.5 years old, 60lb GSD mix. She is looking for a semi-active family with a playful resident dog(s) that she can be besties with. Older children who like to engage with her will make her very happy. Sahara is an ideal family pup.
