***Weems has been diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy and has been started on phenobarbital. This is a medication that must be given at specific times and cannot be missed.*** ***Must have prior breed experience or similar breed experience to adopt Weems. German Shepherds are NOT similar to Malinois.*** MEET WEEMS. He is a 1 year old, neutered, Belgian Malinois whose internal setting is permanently stuck on “GO.” Weems wakes up every morning like: “Hello. I have legs. You have legs. We should be using them IMMEDIATELY.” FACTS ABOUT WEEMS: • High energy ✔️ • Social ✔️ • Friendly ✔️ • Thinks sitting is suspicious ✔️ • Believes naps are a post-exercise rumor ✔️ Does he have extreme working drive? ❌ No. Does he believe movement is a constitutional right? ✅ Yes. He will argue this in court. Weems is looking for: 🏃‍♂️ A VERY active, Malinois-experienced home 🌲 People who say “just a walk” and then disappear for an hour 🧠 Humans who understand this breed but are NOT trying to recruit a tactical asset 🚫🚔 ABSOLUTELY DO NOT 🚔🚫 Tag police departments, K9 units, or search & rescue. Weems has already been evaluated and is not appropriate for those roles. Meet Ranger Ranger is a handsome altered German Shepherd who came to us after living in less-than-ideal circumstances. When he first arrived, he was severely underweight and understandably scared. It was clear that life hadn’t always been kind to him. Thanks to the dedication of our wonderful staff, Ranger is steadily working his way back to a healthy weight and, more importantly, learning that fear doesn’t have to define his world. Each day he grows stronger — not just physically, but emotionally too. As his confidence builds, we’re seeing more of the loyal, intelligent, and sensitive dog he truly is. Ranger has made great progress socially, but he may require a few meet-and-greets to ensure he feels safe and comfortable with new people. He thrives when given patience, understanding, and the space to adjust at his own pace. Ranger is dog selective, so a meet-and-greet will be required with any potential canine housemates to ensure a good match. We are currently unsure how he feels about cats, but we would be happy to cat test him upon request. Ranger is looking for a committed, compassionate home that will continue helping him build confidence and trust. With the right family by his side, this resilient boy is sure to become a deeply devoted and loving companion.
