Since I am on the smaller side, I am agile and love jumping over my dog friends. While I am super playful with the other animals, I am so sweet and loving! My affectionate side is on full display when my dog friends aren`t watching!WHAT I LOVE: I LOVE to run. You will be so impressed by my zoomies in the yard - I am life a little rocket! Once I get my energy out, I love to cuddle and sit loyally at your side.KIDS: While I haven`t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, staff thinks I would do well with dog savvy kids!OTHER DOGS: I`m super dog-friendly and enjoy the company of other dogs! I go to playgroup here at the shelter everyday!CATS: UnknownHIS MATCH: I would be perfect for a family that likes to play, run, jump, and just have fun! Found on the evening of January 4th in our community in Woodruff, SC. After a week of checking door to door and around town, posting in Facebook groups, next door, pawboost, checking with vets, etc. we have come to the conclusion that she may have been dumped. She is still a puppy and we are pretty sure she is at least part malinois, so a high energy puppy for sure. In the last week with us she is learning to be better on a leash (she's a puller but a well fitted harness has mostly corrected that behavior). She is very friendly but she doesn't know her size or how painful claws to the skin can be, she loves to jump and will chase a ball but not great at bringing it back. Loves crinkly, soft toys and big sticks. She is crate trained and is great about sleeping in a crate quietly every night. She is smart, learns routines quickly, picks up on new tricks almost immediately. She needs a home that has the time and energy for lots of walks and playtime and can give her structure and love.

Penny is approximately a two year-old German Shepherd and/or Belgian Malinois mix who had a hard start at life, fending for herself as a stray. She has transitioned to an indoor dog perfectly. She is house trained and crate trained, and has discovered the joy of sleeping in bed. She is a normal/medium energy level right now. This may increase as she gains some weight and resumes a normal body condition. Although she appears to be a working breed cross, she currently doesn't show any drives and would thrive in just an active pet home.  Penny listens very well, is very smart and a very quick learner! She did not get to enjoy puppyhood to the fullest, so she still has some puppy tendencies like jumping when excited that should be expected.  Penny is currently living with 6 other dogs ranging from 7-45lbs and is very dog friendly!  Adoption Application: www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt  ************************Penny is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt Adoption process:Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved. From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption. Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. He has so much life left and we are so happy we stepped in when we did. He is a 14 year old neutered Belgian Malinois. He is up to date on all shots and vaccines.Came in with sister/ wife Risky. Can be adopted together, but are fine to be separated. Would make a great running buddy! Such an affectionate boy. Most happy to be outside and playing fetch/ chewing on bones while being with his people. Fully potty trained and crate trained. Toys and food should be separate from other dogs!

Can be adopted together, but are fine to be separated. Would be a great running buddy! Likes to be pet but likes being outside more. Most happy to be outside and playing fetch/ chewing on bones while being with her people. Fully potty and crate trained. Toys and food should be separate from other dogs!
