Lexi formerly known as Star is an owner surrender from Fort Worth Animal Shelter. Her former owners did not have the experience when they adopted her and could not take the time to train. She would make an awesome Service Dog with the right training. She is exceptionally smart and knows commands and walks well on a leash. Milo survived alone — now he’s learning to trust again. 🐾 Before the Texas freeze in February, Milo was surviving alone. Cold. Hungry. Too scared to let anyone close enough to help him. Even now, you can still see pieces of that fear in his eyes. But if you sit quietly with him long enough, you’ll also see something else — hope. NETRO volunteers met Milo and quickly realized what a beautiful soul he truly is. Beneath the fear is a gorgeous, gentle German Shepherd who wants so badly to trust. His foster says he is absolutely adorable. Still shy at times, but once he feels safe, he becomes affectionate, loving, and loyal. Milo is slowly discovering that the world may not be as scary as he once believed. He now spends his days around goats, cows, a mule, peacocks, chickens, cats, and kids — learning little by little how to simply be a dog again. He especially loves the pond. He doesn’t need perfection. He doesn’t need chaos. He just needs patience. The kind of person willing to let him heal at his own pace. The kind of home where fear is met with kindness. The kind of love that asks for nothing except trust. Milo survived on his own.
