Meet Cairo, a ridiculously handsome Belgian Malinois with Olympic-level energy, a heart of gold, and the emotional range of a golden retriever on espresso. Cai’s hobbies include: Sprinting like he’s being chased by his own ambition Hiking like he’s training for a National Geographic documentary Playing fetch like it’s a competitive sport (bring two balls unless you enjoy being outwitted) Dominating agility, dock diving, barn hunt—honestly, if it involves movement and showing off, he’s in. He’s crate trained (but expects an explanation if you’re having fun without him), super treat-motivated, and polishing up his manners—including learning not to greet people like a linebacker. Cai is a ride-or-die kind of guy. He loves confident humans (bonus points if you’re female, but competent dudes are welcome too). Now neutered, he’s channeling his energy into learning, bonding, and gradually retiring his career in artistic leg-lifting. Now, let’s talk about his one true nemesis: weather extremes. &#226&#152&#128&#239&#184&#143 Too hot? He’s filing an HR complaint. &#226&#157&#132&#239&#184&#143 Too cold? He wants a parka and a written apology. &#226&#155&#136&#239&#184&#143 Thunderstorms? If there’s even one cloud with attitude, Cairo is going on strike. If it’s raining hard or thundering faintly in the next ZIP code, he’ll hold it until the skies are blue and the squirrels are singing again. He’s not dramatic—just extremely specific. Cai’s dream home includes: &#226&#156&#133 No tiny humans (unless they’re part-ninja) &#226&#156&#133 Dog-savvy adults who know a Malinois isn’t a “chill in the backyard” kind of vibe &#226&#156&#133 A playful female dog or easygoing small male &#226&#156&#133 Maybe a cat—he’s curious, not criminal If you’re ready for a smart, hilarious, occasionally weather-phobic best friend who’ll love you like it’s his job, Cairo’s your guy. He might steal your heart, your shoes, and your spot on the couch—but you’ll never be bored again. Message Kelli Fort-Williamson to meet this high-voltage goofball and start your next adventure. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Brittany Berger/Daria AdamsCurrently fostered in VA Looking for a dog with a heart as big as her ears? Meet Bela — a gentle, soulful girl who’s been patiently waiting for her person to come along. Bela is more reserved than her outgoing sister, but don’t let that fool you — once she trusts you, she really trusts you. Her fosters describe her as sweet, sensitive, and smart as a whip. &#226&#156&#168 A few things to know about Bela: She loves head and ear rubs (prepare to be charmed by her little white chin while she leans into your hand). Knows sit and stay — unless a squirrel, cat, or deer tempts her wild side. Polite at mealtimes — sits and waits to be told she can eat. Walks great on a leash and is comfortable with a collar or harness. Prefers not to be crated (she’s been known to Houdini her way out). She sleeps peacefully on a dog bed in the bedroom at night, but is crated when her humans leave the house. Protective of her toys and treats, but no issues with food. Needs supervision in a fenced yard — this girl has serious squirrel-chasing dreams and can climb fences (and yes, even trees). Not cat-friendly, and barks at visitors, but settles down once everyone is inside and seated. Then, she’ll graciously accept pets and attention like the dignified queen she is. She may shake at the vet or hang back in new situations, but Bela has a kind and trusting heart. With a patient adopter and a bit of encouragement, she’ll blossom into your most loyal companion.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  March 7, 2026, 10:54 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Carol Aulick Thor: A Warrior's Spirit, A Tender Heart Just like his legendary namesake, Thor is handsome, powerful, intelligent, and turns heads. Thor might be known for his hammer but look at those ears - those are pretty supernatural  This striking 4½-year-old Belgian Malinois has had quite a journey. Before coming to ABMR, Thor passed through multiple homes and narrowly escaped euthanasia. He has spent much of his life waiting for someone to see the incredible dog he has always been. Through it all, he has remained ready to give his whole heart to the right person. Today, thanks to the dedication of his foster mom who saw his potential, he's blossoming into an incredible dog. Thor is a smart, engaging boy who loves learning and working alongside his foster mom. She has expertly worked to build his confidence through agility training, and he has taken to it beautifully. Watching Thor conquer these new challenges and find purpose and fulfillment is not only rewarding, but so much fun! One of Thor's most endearing traits is his expressive personality (just look into those eyes). He wears his heart on his sleeve and is very sweet. In true Malinois fashion, Thor does the "Malinois clack" that punctuates his enthusiasm and excitement. Thor is: Fully house-trained Excellent in a crate Comfortable riding in a crate in the car Good with other dogs Very good with people once he gets to know them. He can be a little slow to warm up to new people, preferring to take a moment to assess a situation before diving in. But once you've earned his trust, he's all in—loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. Respectful of fences Familiar with basic obedience commands Thor has not been tested with cats. Because of his enthusiasm and energy, he would likely do best in a home without small children. He recently attended the Malinois National with his foster mom, where he was exposed to crowds, unfamiliar dogs, and countless new experiences. True to his thoughtful nature, Thor took a moment to assess his surroundings, then settled in beautifully and handled everything with confidence. If you're looking for a loyal partner, a training companion, and a best friend who will be by your side through every adventure, Thor is the boy you've been waiting for. He just needs someone to be his person. If you would like to adopt Thor, please complete the adoption application: Currently located in Michigan but reasonable transport can be arranged.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  July 30, 2026, 1:24 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinators: Carol Aulick & Chris Wood We all know a good pair of boots is totally worth the time required to break them in because they will provide years of joy and reliability. The same is true for these three Boot Babies! Stetson, Frye, and Roper are still looking for their forever homes.  Meet Frye - located in N FL Frye is an outgoing, sweet, and playful puppy.  He has done really well with his entire foster family including male and female Malinois and the Malinois savvy, older children in the home. The verdict on small animals such as chickens and cats is still out. To keep him and other critters safe as he grows, he will need a home without small critters to chase. He enjoys chewing on a cow hoof, and he settles well in his crate. Like all of his littermates, he is well on his way to being house trained when a puppy-appropriate schedule is in place. While his ears are still floppy, they will stand erect when he is on high alert and sometimes during boisterous play. If you are looking for content, fun addition to your pack, Frye is your guy! He’s a tall, lean drink of water, and like the boot he is named for, he will be a sturdy, versatile addition to your family.  DNA Results 45% Malinois (one of Mama’s parents was Mal and GSD, the other was Malinois) 23% American Pit Bull Terrier 21% German Shepherd 9% Great Pyrenees These boots are made for walking all over your heart, so get those applications in! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ SEEKING: My Forever Home  Hello! My name is Honey, and I'm on the hunt for my very own forever family. About me? Well, I'm a beautiful, mature lady with a youthful spirit, a heart full of love, and eyes that everyone says are impossible to resist. Seriously—one look into my soulful eyes and you might find yourself filling out adoption paperwork. The humans keep calling me a "senior," but I think there must be some mistake. I still have plenty of energy, love to play, and approach every day like a dog half my age. I'm what they call a "people dog." I love everyone I meet and firmly believe that strangers are just friends I haven't hugged yet. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will follow you from room to room, supervise all household activities, and make sure you're never lonely, I am exceptionally qualified for the position. My favorite things include: Hugs and kisses Following my people everywhere they go Playing with dog friends Squeaky toys (the squeakier, the better) Treats of all kinds Raw chicken feet (the greatest delicacy known to dogkind) Learning new things for snacks because I'm very food motivated I'm house-trained, crate-trained, walk nicely on a leash, and I'm even bilingual—I understand both English and Spanish. I get along well with other dogs and enjoy having canine friends to play with. I'm also comfortable around horses. Now, because every good personal ad should be honest, here are a few fun facts about me: I occasionally enjoy interior decorating. Specifically, I like to redecorate dog beds by removing the stuffing and may borrow clothing items left within reach. Because of my creative talents, I do best being crated when my people aren't home. Fortunately, I can settle in very nicely in my crate. I would not be a good match for you if you cohabitate with cats. I stay feeling my best with my Purina Pro Plan meals and daily Cosequin. In return, I offer endless affection, unwavering loyalty, plenty of laughs, and a lifetime membership in my fan club. If you're searching for a companion who will love you with her whole heart, greet you enthusiastically every day when you come home, and stick by your side through every adventure, please submit your application: https://www.malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=6574 Love, Honey P.S. If you bring chicken feet to our first date, you will earn a special place in my heart  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  July 30, 2026, 1:24 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator-Jeanine DaughertyKya is a Malinois mix who was horribly attacked as a puppy. she still has scars, but is physically, completely healed. Unfortunately, the attack left her untrusting of most other dogs. She could live in a home with a more passive male dog.  Kya is slow to warm up to new people, but once you have gained her trust she will play ball with you all day long and then settle in and cuddle.  Kya is spayed, fully vaccinated and on heart worm and flea and tick preventative. She is crate and house trained. She was a Valentine's day baby in 2022 (DOB 2/14/22). Kya likes to go for rides in the car.  Kya is located in Ohio.  To apply to adopt Kya , please use her adoption link: https://malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=6574Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  March 7, 2026, 10:54 am
