Don't let her age fool you—Nina is healthy, active, and still loves having a job, whether that's going for an adventure, playing with a favorite toy, or showing off the years of training she's had. Nina has spent her entire life with her owner, who trained alongside professional K9 trainer OJ Knighten in Santa Clarita, California. As a young dog, she was introduced to Mondioring foundation work, including leg sleeve and bite suit work, while also building an exceptional obedience foundation. Over the years, she continued training in obedience, agility, toy work, and off-leash reliability, growing into a calm, well-mannered companion. Today, Nina is the definition of an "easy keeper." She's happy to relax around the house, spend time outdoors, or join you on a walk or road trip. She remains highly food and toy motivated, making her enjoyable to work with, but she no longer requires the level of daily stimulation that a younger Malinois might. Nina's Highlights 10 years old Healthy with no known medical concerns On monthly heartworm prevention Exceptional obedience and manners Trained to an e-collar for reliable off-leash adventures Excellent recall, including whistle recall at long distances Loves car rides and has traveled extensively Friendly with people of all ages and especially enjoys meeting men Does well with children Comfortable in a variety of living situations, from apartments to horse properties Has lived successfully around livestock Has been kenneled traditionally and in group boarding environments Happy living indoors or outdoors with appropriate shelter Nina has adapted well throughout her life, thriving in everything from small apartments to horse ranches. She's spent the past year and a half enjoying outdoor living with access to a large workshop for shelter and has proven to be incredibly adaptable wherever life has taken her. Like many dogs with prey drive, Nina is very interested in cats and squirrels, so a home without cats would be the best fit. Nina is looking for someone who appreciates the intelligence, loyalty, and heart of an older Belgian Malinois. She still has plenty of life left to enjoy adventures but is equally content spending quiet evenings with her people. If you're looking for a well-trained, trustworthy companion who has already learned all the hard lessons of puppyhood, Nina may be the perfect match. This is a courtesy listing. Nina is not in the care of American Belgian Malinois Rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Carol AulickI never thought I'd be looking for a new home again... Hi! My name is Gator, and I'm one of the Cajun Krewe puppies that came into rescue last year. I was adopted back in November 2025 but now, my family's life circumstances have changed, and they can no longer keep me.   Some things to know about me: * Incredibly loving to my family * Friendly with people * Confident and environmentally sound  * Neutral with other dogs * Ball obsessed (seriously, throw it again!) * Crate trained * Neutered, healthy, and current on vaccinations I'm currently in North Carolina, but reasonable transport can be arranged. What I need now is a new home willing to give me a chance to show how much I have to give.  I'm a very good boy who is capable of doing so much. Please share - my next family might be someone you know. Apply here: https://www.malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=6574 Questions? Story
Zima is a loving, intelligent Belgian Malinois who enjoys fetch, daily walks, and cuddling with her people. She has excellent recall, is fully house-trained, and does not need to be kenneled. She's affectionate, eager to learn, and thrives with exercise, structure, and gentle, consistent training. Zima can be anxious around unfamiliar dogs and may bark at runners or cyclists, but she is not aggressive and responds well to reassurance. She does well with older children and will need slow introductions to other pets. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and her vet recommends anti-anxiety medication for grooming, vet visits, and long car rides. Serious inquiries only. Preference will be given to adopters with Belgian Malinois or other high-drive working breed experience. She deserves an active, patient, and loving forever home. She is temporarily in my care and has been striving well with myself and 11 year old son, but unfortunately we cannot keep her long term.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Sandra Wardell - CoordinatorMeet Ziva Located in Illinois Ziva was found in the middle of a Wisconsin winter out in the cold, covered in mange. This poor girl had a rough start so she has a hard time trusting new people at first. This poor girl deserves the family of her dreams! Ziva is estimated to be between 1-2 years old, she is still very much a puppy in a big girl body. This sweet girl is moderate energy loves her play time, especially the flirt pole. She has had foundations in frisbee, fetch, dock diving, and nosework. Ziva does not have a super working dog drive however, she still has a great time trying new activities. Ziva is ALWAYS down for a good adventure hiking. She would do great in a home that maintains a somewhat active lifestyle and would dedicate time to play with her and fulfill her needs or someone looking to get into the sport world to have some fun! Here’s some information about Ziva! Young girl who loves to play Once she warms up to you, you’ll have a partner for life! Enjoys long walks/ hikes Loves playing with the flirt pole Has had quite a bit of obedience training Great for baths and nail trims Knows foundations of nosework, fetch, frisbee, and dock diving Ziva has had a strong foundation in obedience and knows all her commands very well. She does great for baths, brushing, and nail trims. Kennel trained and muzzle conditioned. Ecollar trained (mini educator). Ziva also loves trick training and find it games with treats! Lastly, every great dog has their quirks. Here are Ziva’s: Socially Ziva is a dominant girl. That being said she prefers submissive dogs to play with. She plays just like a puppy! She is used to playing with a 6 month old border collie but goes out 1-2 times a week with different dogs. When out with more dominant dogs who posture up to her and get stiff with body language, she tends to react because she is unsure and feels threatened. She is just a nervous girl with big feelings. When in the kennel around new people she gets nervous that she can go anywhere or move away so she will sometimes bark. At home, this behavior will subside in 1-3 days when she gets comfortable with you. She would do well in a home with much older kids. She does well when new kids, or people in general, respect her space and boundaries. She is not a dog who will like if strangers come up and pet her on walks. She requires an owner who will stand up for her and advocate for her and help others respect her boundaries. Regarding kids, if they give her her time and let her warm up on her own, she will get used to them. This is the same with new people. Ziva is a smart girl who picks up on things quickly and strives off of routine and structure. She is eagerly waiting to meet her new family and show them how great of a girl she is. Ziva has a whole lot of love to give. She is loyal and when you’ve gained her trust, anything is possible! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Carol AulickMeet Nitro ~ A Young Pup Ready to Light that Fire in your Heart True to his name, Nitro is an energetic puppy full of heart and unlimited potential.  He is the total package. Nitro is absolutely stunning. His striking good looks, expressive face, and athletic build turn heads wherever he goes. But it's his affectionate nature, loyal heart, and genuine desire to connect with his people that make him truly special. At under a year old, this incredibly handsome Belgian Malinois is everything you could hope for in a young dog. Friendly with people, social with other dogs, and deeply devoted to his person, Nitro is the kind of companion who wants to be part of everything you do. Still very much a puppy, Nitro is a happy guy who approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. Not unusual for his breed, Nitro shows his excitement with playful “clacking”.  Whether he's chasing a ball, proudly carrying around his favorite Kong toy, or transforming an ordinary plastic water bottle into the greatest treasure on earth, Nitro knows how to make every day an adventure. Nitro is also a smart young dog with an excellent foundation already in place. He: Walks nicely on leash Knows sit and down Is house-trained Is crate-trained Is highly food-motivated and eager to learn Does well at daycare With his intelligence, work ethic, and love of rewards, Nitro is the perfect age to continue building skills and deepening the bond with his future family. Nitro is expected to remain on the smaller side for a male Belgian Malinois, making him a wonderful choice for someone looking for all the incredible qualities of the breed in a slightly more compact package. One story that perfectly captures Nitro's confidence and adventurous nature happened during his very first boat ride. While many dogs might hesitate in a brand-new environment, Nitro hopped aboard like he'd been doing it his entire life and loved every minute of the experience. His willingness to embrace new adventures suggests he'll be an enthusiastic partner wherever life takes you—whether that's hiking trails, training fields, road trips, or simply spending time together. Nitro is currently located in Ohio and is searching for a family that appreciates the intelligence, athleticism, and loyalty that make Belgian Malinois such extraordinary dogs. And willing to put in the time and effort to channel that brilliance and drive towards good.  He is a young dog with enormous potential, ready for someone willing to invest in his future and enjoy the incredible journey of watching him grow. If you're looking for a devoted companion, a training partner, an adventure buddy, and a best friend all wrapped into one handsome package, don’t miss out on this opportunity to adopt Nitro. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator Chris Wood Fridge - remember the linebacker? Or the appliance in your kitchen? Or maybe the character from the Jumanji movie? This young man can imitate them all! Runs and plays hard. Eats like a… well, like a young Malinois who needs all the extra calories to burn. His name will remind you to keep your refrigerator, cabinets, and pockets full of tasty treats. He’s a work in progress, growing into the wonderful Malinois he was meant to be.  Fridge is estimated to be just over a year old , is friendly with other dogs his size, LOVES playing with other dogs - he’s fully integrated into the large foster pack, and thinks the crate command can mean in his crate or on top of the crate beside his! He will make you laugh daily unless you are not fulfilling his needs for play and training. That’s when he could make you cry! Fridge is a young, exuberant boy who is neutered and ready for his forever. He is heartworm negative and up to date on preventions and vaccines. He needs continued obedience training, but the other dogs in his foster home are teaching him how to play tug. His forever person should be able to use that as a reward during training time and to bond with him through play. Fridge will settle in a crate or a 5 X 10 kennel run. He will settle while crated in the car as long as it is moving. But if you are stopped in traffic, he will let you know that he is as frustrated as you are. On his transport from FL to TN, calming music helped with this, but ear plugs are not a bad idea. Fridge would like you to know his lungs are young and healthy, too.  Fridge will need a physically fenced yard. While he respects the fence with you and his packmates inside, his Good Samaritan did discover Malinois athleticism while taking out the trash. Fridge decided he preferred to help and didn’t want to be in the yard alone, so he joined his temporary human on the other side of the 6 ft. privacy fence. No open gate needed.  Fridge is an awesome young Malinois who is probably more than the average pet owner is looking for. If you are a first time Malinois owner or you’ve only had more laid back Malinois, you will need to have a trainer lined up, a fenced yard, and a training and exercise routine set before applying. If you are well seasoned in the world of Malinois, he will be a fun addition to your home. Fridge is a thinker, a mover, and a shaker. If you are looking for a vibrant, young Malinois, he is your dream come true.  Fridge’s Special Notes: He is not cat, chicken, rabbit, rodent, or other small animal tested. He is not fully kid tested, so only families with children age 10+ will be considered. Inquiries for Fridge can be directed to Coordinator Chris Wood at cwood@malinoisrescue.org .
