Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator Chris Wood Fridge - remember the linebacker? Or the appliance in your kitchen? Or maybe the character from the Jumanji movie? This young man can imitate them all! Runs and plays hard. Eats like a… well, like a young Malinois who needs all the extra calories to burn. His name will remind you to keep your refrigerator, cabinets, and pockets full of tasty treats. He’s a work in progress, growing into the wonderful Malinois he was meant to be.  Fridge is estimated to be just over a year old , is friendly with other dogs his size, LOVES playing with other dogs - he’s fully integrated into the large foster pack, and thinks the crate command can mean in his crate or on top of the crate beside his! He will make you laugh daily unless you are not fulfilling his needs for play and training. That’s when he could make you cry! Fridge is a young, exuberant boy who is neutered and ready for his forever. He is heartworm negative and up to date on preventions and vaccines. He needs continued obedience training, but the other dogs in his foster home are teaching him how to play tug. His forever person should be able to use that as a reward during training time and to bond with him through play. Fridge will settle in a crate or a 5 X 10 kennel run. He will settle while crated in the car as long as it is moving. But if you are stopped in traffic, he will let you know that he is as frustrated as you are. On his transport from FL to TN, calming music helped with this, but ear plugs are not a bad idea. Fridge would like you to know his lungs are young and healthy, too.  Fridge will need a physically fenced yard. While he respects the fence with you and his packmates inside, his Good Samaritan did discover Malinois athleticism while taking out the trash. Fridge decided he preferred to help and didn’t want to be in the yard alone, so he joined his temporary human on the other side of the 6 ft. privacy fence. No open gate needed.  Fridge is an awesome young Malinois who is probably more than the average pet owner is looking for. If you are a first time Malinois owner or you’ve only had more laid back Malinois, you will need to have a trainer lined up, a fenced yard, and a training and exercise routine set before applying. If you are well seasoned in the world of Malinois, he will be a fun addition to your home. Fridge is a thinker, a mover, and a shaker. If you are looking for a vibrant, young Malinois, he is your dream come true.  Fridge’s Special Notes: He is not cat, chicken, rabbit, rodent, or other small animal tested. He is not fully kid tested, so only families with children age 10+ will be considered. Inquiries for Fridge can be directed to Coordinator Chris Wood at cwood@malinoisrescue.org . Please CC Assistant Coordinator Beth Sorenson at bsorenson@malinoisrescue.org .   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  June 27, 2026, 1:57 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ____________________________________________________________ Coordinator: Carol Aulick Thor: A Warrior's Spirit, A Tender Heart Just like his legendary namesake, Thor is handsome, powerful, intelligent, and turns heads. Thor might be known for his hammer but look at those ears - those are pretty supernatural  This striking 4½-year-old Belgian Malinois has had quite a journey. Before coming to ABMR, Thor passed through multiple homes and narrowly escaped euthanasia. He has spent much of his life waiting for someone to see the incredible dog he has always been. Through it all, he has remained ready to give his whole heart to the right person. Today, thanks to the dedication of his foster mom who saw his potential, he's blossoming into an incredible dog. Thor is a smart, engaging boy who loves learning and working alongside his foster mom. She has expertly worked to build his confidence through agility training, and he has taken to it beautifully. Watching Thor conquer these new challenges and find purpose and fulfillment is not only rewarding, but so much fun! One of Thor's most endearing traits is his expressive personality (just look into those eyes). He wears his heart on his sleeve and is very sweet. In true Malinois fashion, Thor does the "Malinois clack" that punctuates his enthusiasm and excitement. Thor is: Fully house-trained Excellent in a crate Comfortable riding in a crate in the car Good with other dogs Very good with people once he gets to know them. He can be a little slow to warm up to new people, preferring to take a moment to assess a situation before diving in. But once you've earned his trust, he's all in—loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. Respectful of fences Familiar with basic obedience commands Thor has not been tested with cats. Because of his enthusiasm and energy, he would likely do best in a home without small children. He recently attended the Malinois National with his foster mom, where he was exposed to crowds, unfamiliar dogs, and countless new experiences. True to his thoughtful nature, Thor took a moment to assess his surroundings, then settled in beautifully and handled everything with confidence. If you're looking for a loyal partner, a training companion, and a best friend who will be by your side through every adventure, Thor is the boy you've been waiting for. He just needs someone to be his person. If you would like to adopt Thor, please complete the adoption application: Currently located in Michigan but reasonable transport can be arranged.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.ABMR thanks you for taking the time to look at our malinois available for adoption.  June 27, 2026, 1:57 pm

A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we're hoping someone will give this special girl the chance she deserves. Meet Lala Affectionately known by the shelter as the "Mini Mal" (short for Mini Malinois), Lala is an 8-month-old sweetheart who has all the intelligence, attentiveness, and playful personality of a Belgian Malinois in a much smaller package. At just 29 pounds, she's surprisingly petite and actually much smaller in person than she appears in photos. If you are looking for the ultimate family dog, look no further! This sweet girl has never met a stranger and absolutely adores people of all ages, especially children. She lights up around kids and would happily spend her days playing in the yard, going on family adventures, or soaking up all the love and attention she can get. Lala is incredibly dog-friendly and thrives around other animals, making her a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. She recently attended a large adoption event and handled all the excitement beautifully, happily greeting new people and enjoying every minute of the attention. One of Lala's best qualities is how clean and well-mannered she is in her kennel. She keeps her space tidy, settles in nicely, and has a gentle, loving personality that makes her easy to be around. While she's still learning leash walking and some basic manners, she is eager to please and improving every day. This sweetheart would love a home with other pets, children to play with, and a family that will include her in all of life's adventures. She is ready to be someone's best friend, loyal companion, and cherished family member. All she needs is a foster or adopter to help her make the trip to Wisconsin. Story
Kodi is a pure bread Belgian malanois who was originally bred to be a police K9. He did not make it through that training as he was not a highly motivated dog. We have had him for 3 years. Our schedules are getting busier and we are unable to dedicate time home with him. He needs a lot of attention. He loves long petting sessions and snuggles. He does not do well being left for long periods of time as he starts to destroy his surroundings. He is house trained. He is toy driven to the point where he will not drop a ball/dog toy very easily. He walks very well on a leash and loves going for walks. Kodi does well with kids who understand boundaries and won’t just poke at a dog. He does well with other non dominant dogs as he is a dominant dog. Loves to be active and needs someone who has time to put in the training/dedication that we can unfortunately not provide.
