Story
Odin-Belgian Malinois-male-neutered-1 year. Meet Odin! Before you consider putting in an application, this is a breed you definitely won't want if you aren't an experienced Malinois owner or a similar working and herding breed such as the Dutch Shepherd or working line German Shepherd. You know, the crazy breeds that never quit. Last but not least, first time dog owners with no dog experience, this is not the right breed for you. Now, more about Odin. In Odin's previous home, he was said to be crate trained and left alone for approximately 8 hours per day. We highly suggest continuing with the crate training. If not contained, a young Malinois may decide your house needs rearranging. Odin loves exercise, going for runs in our play yards, and he LOVES to learn. He catches on to new things very quickly too. Odin was surrendered due not having enough time for him. This is something to consider when wanting a breed like this. When you come home from work tired, he's been resting all day, and he's ready to train, run and be with you. The Malinois has a body that was built for endurance, so, daily exercise is mandatory, and we aren't talking about a walk around the block. We are talking about energy burning exercise and mental stimulation! They are also highly intelligent and if their minds are put to good use, they will make up things to do that are destructive! If you don't put them to work, and put effort into training daily, you will regret having one. If you have another dog, Odin does well with them. Cats-no. Kids-case by case and older. Please remember, we aren't telling you all these things to discourage anyone from adopting, but with the Belgian Malinois, you have to know these things, or you will regret getting one if you aren't one of the owners that can handle a dog of this caliber. Our Executive Director is very familiar with the needs of this breed. She currently has a Malinois, and a Dutch Shepherd and she is a trainer. She will be cautious and make sure we find the right placement for Odin. If you have what it takes, please head to our website at www.cchswi.org to apply. Please, please do the research necessary and if you are already experienced, please consider Odin! DATCP License #266742-DS

Story
Seba is three years old and a very good boy! He loves going to the dog park and playing with tennis balls. He has a lot of energy but overall has been an amazing pet. He gives great kisses and just wants to cuddle on the couch. Seba is looking for a new home that can give him the exercise and attention he deserves. Seba is crate trained. Seba's behavioral problems stem from being under exercised, and living in an urban area. He barks when frightened but warms up quickly to those he meets. He sometimes jumps when people come into the house, but he has no history of biting or serious aggression. He is a fast learner, very intelligent, and according to his vet, "he sits very well."
