Story
Hi my name is Sashia! I am 9 years old but I have the energy of a one year old puppy. I like to run around the yard and play and I like to go on long walks. My beloved owner was diagnosed with dementia and can no longer show me the love and attention that I deserve. I am truly a sweetheart but my life has been rough since my owner’s diagnosis. If you have lots of love to give so do I. Looking for a forever home!

Story
All of our dogs are housed in private homes, we do not have a store or a shelter.  We do not show dogs to interested parties until they have an approved adoption application.  If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.helpingshepherdsofeverycolor.com/adoption-application  You may also find us on facebook:  Helping Shepherds of Every Color Rescue. COURTESY POST:  FOSTER HOME NEEDED! Sara is a 5 or 6 yr old female.  She has a medical condition which may affect her breathing if she gets too active.  She is also overweight which does not help her condition.  She is in a crowded animal shelter and she is taking up the space of two dogs.  Sara will catch and kill a mouse if it is slow enough.  Then she will wait for you to dispose of it.   Sara needs to get out of the shelter and into a foster home (or forever foster home) where she can lose weight and feel better. This is what the vet said about her conditon:  She has a long redundant dorsal membrane. This is not the same as collapsing trachea but causes decreased diameter of trachea. We also wonder if there is some kind of laryngeal paralysis type of dog. We did have to sedate her lightly to get rads. Her heart is large but not technically congestive heart failure. She weighs 117 lbs. ideal weight should be closer to 90.    November 1, 2023, 12:07 am

Doris is a sweet girl.  She may need to go on the Doggie Slim Fast plan to shed a few pounds.  She also may need supplements to keep her joints working for a few more years.  The vet did not think she needed surgery for them.  Doris is currently at a doggie foster camp learning how to walk on a leash without pulling and how to get along and interact with other dogs.  She has been treated for heartworms. Update:  Doris is doing great in her foster home and with all the good exercise she's getting her joints are doing great.  Keeping dogs a good weight and allowing them to exercise really helps their joints keep working (just like us humans).  November 1, 2023, 12:07 am
