Story
Blondie doesn’t want to be everyone’s dog. He wants to be YOUR dog. If you’ve been dreaming of a deeply loyal companion who will be your shadow, your adventure buddy, and your most devoted friend—a dog who truly bonds with his person—meet Blondie. He came to us scared and unsure, but after 6 weeks of board and train, he’s transformed into the confident, gorgeous boy he was always meant to be.This 4-year-old, 77 lb Belgian Shepherd is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and crate trained. He walks beautifully on leash, shows no toy or food aggression, and is well-adjusted and happy. What makes Blondie special: He’s sweet, compliant, and eager to please. He loves being with people and will seek you out for affection. He listens well and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. Blondie just needs a strong, confident leader who will guide him with kindness. His ideal home: Blondie is ideally your only pet or is matched with an experienced adopter and a calm dog. He would thrive in a home without small children where he can be the center of attention. He’s ready to bond deeply with one person or family and give all his love and loyalty to them. This gorgeous boy has come so far. Now he just needs his forever.

Story
Meet Troy — a spunky young husky who is ready to bring everything you love about the breed into your life.Talkative? Absolutely. Obsessed with water? Yes. Ready to run? Always. If you know and love huskies, Troy is your guy.At his best, Troy is an absolute joy — romping through playgroup with other dogs, charming every person he meets, and filling a home with personality and noise (the good kind). He`s affectionate, fun-loving, and thrives with canine company, though he`s a little selective about his friends. Troy is working on his reactivity to other dogs on leash and behind a fence, so he`ll need an experienced home that understands the breed and can give him the structure and patience to keep making progress. A wrestling buddy at home could be a dream scenario for this guy.Shelter life is starting to wear on him — he`s losing weight and showing stress, which is why he`s been added to our urgent list. Troy deserves so much better than a kennel, and we know the right home is out there for him.

Story
Hi there! My name is Sony and I'm a 3 and a half year old male German Shepherd Mix at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for my new home! I’m a young, playful guy with a zest for life and a serious case of the zoomies! I'm often seen racing around the yard, tossing my toys in the air. I already know a few cues and love learning new things. I’m also working on my crate training and making great progress. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience (and a few tasty treats), my sweet and goofy personality quickly shines through. Once I’m comfortable, I’m a total lovebug who’s ready to be your adventure buddy, cuddle companion, and biggest fan. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!

Story
Meet Vivian! This regal 5 year old is your quintessential shepherd: loyal, loving, and the kind of dog who picks her person and never looks back. She bonds deeply with her person, but she has also done beautifully meeting new people and even charmed her foster grandparents along the way.Vivian is treat motivated and loves to learn. She runs, plays ball, and cuddles like it`s her job. She is great on leash, doesn`t react to dogs who mind their business, and her overnight fosters and day trippers have been consistent: `easy,` `stellar,` `10/10.`At home she is a dream. Potty trained, nondestructive when left alone, comfortable with home life, and thoughtful enough to let you know when she needs to go out. Vivian is back at the shelter while her foster mom is on vacation, which means right now is the perfect time to come meet her. Take her on a day trip and see what all the fuss is about. She does best as an only pet, with a home where she can be the center of someone`s world. She deserves nothing less.
