Story
This is Seo A556732, he is located at the Lompoc Animal Shelter. 1501 W. Central Ave. He was brought into the shelter as a stray on June 26th. In the 56 days he has been in our care, we learned he desperately seeks human attention. He is very sweet and loving. He did well in his overnight foster home. He did not want to be in his crate. It was okay for short timeframes. He did learn how to get out. When left alone in a room his foster parents said he scratched at the door, but was not destructive. He`s very gentle with most things. He walks really well on leash. He was not reactive to bikes or cars. He was very excited for people and seeking pets from them. He pulled and jumped but only seeking attention. It was not malicious. He got along with the older female shepherd in the home. He accidentally met the foster parent`s cats and didn`t chase them, but was curious and cautious. He is not reactive to people walking by him, traffic or people on bikes. He is eager to please you by completing commands and very treat motivated. Seo, desperately needs a foster shelter break. His anxiety in the shelter has led to being prescribed medication to help him cope with life in the shelter. He has recently cut his leg twice within the past two weeks in his kennel trying to get out. We will supply you with food, bowls, toys, bedding, a crate, leash and harness while he is in foster with you. Please share Seo with your community in hopes he will find a positive outcome from the shelter.

Story
Hi there! My name is Gardenia and I'm a 3 month old Female Belgian Malinois/ Pitbull Mix currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home! Life is one big adventure, and I'm ready to experience it all! I'm a young puppy with lots of energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the world around me. Whether it's exploring new places, playing with toys, learning new skills, or spending time with my people, I'm always excited to be part of the action. Like all puppies, I'm still learning the ropes and will need a family that's committed to helping me grow into a happy, well-mannered adult dog. That means continuing my potty training, crate training, socialization, and basic manners. A consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and plenty of patience will help me build confidence and succeed! I will also need daily physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep my busy puppy brain engaged. Think: walks, training sessions, puzzle toys, playtime, and opportunities to learn new things. The good news is that you won't have to do it alone. SBH offers puppy classes to help set both of us up for success and provide guidance as I continue learning and growing! If you're looking for a playful companion who's ready to fill your home with laughter, adventure, and lots of love, I might just be the one. Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier. If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No appointment or advance notice is required! Need to pick up a few essentials before heading home? Visit the retail center at either Santa Barbara Humane campus, where you'll find toys, treats, collars, leashes, and more at competitive prices. Every purchase helps support the animals in our care and the programs that serve pets and people throughout our community. We hope to see you soon!

Story
High-Energy Intellect Seeking a Confident Leader About Me:Hey there! I’m Scout. I’m a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, rocking a athletic 50-pound frame, a sharp mind, and a heart completely full of loyalty. If you’re looking for a partner-in-crime who is always alert, incredibly intelligent, and ready for the next big adventure—whether that’s a rugged hike, a long run, or just some high-quality one-on-one time—then I’m your guy.I might take a second to make sure we’re a good match, but once I feel secure and trust you? Expect total devotion. I’ve got a deeply sweet, affectionate side, and I form bonds that are built to last.My Ideal Partner:I’m looking for someone active, confident, and structured. As a true working breed, I thrive on purpose and need plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep me at my best. If you have experience with high-energy, intelligent breeds, we are already off to a great start. Our First Date:Probably a walk or a hike, where we can work on our teamwork! I can be a bit strong on the leash, so I really need a confident handler who can guide my energy and help me keep building my walking manners. I do great with other dogs my size or larger, so a double-date with a big canine buddy is totally fine by me.Relationship Goals:With the right leadership, patience, and commitment, I promise to shine as the most loyal, loving, and devoted companion you’ve ever had. I’m just looking for that special someone who is ready to have me by their side for life.Think you can handle all this brains and beauty? Let’s connect! Let`s talk about what kind of adventures we could go on together.

Meet Troy — a spunky young husky who is ready to bring everything you love about the breed into your life.Talkative? Absolutely. Obsessed with water? Yes. Ready to run? Always. If you know and love huskies, Troy is your guy.At his best, Troy is an absolute joy — romping through playgroup with other dogs, charming every person he meets, and filling a home with personality and noise (the good kind). He`s affectionate, fun-loving, and thrives with canine company, though he`s a little selective about his friends. Troy is working on his reactivity to other dogs on leash and behind a fence, so he`ll need an experienced home that understands the breed and can give him the structure and patience to keep making progress. A wrestling buddy at home could be a dream scenario for this guy.Shelter life is starting to wear on him — he`s losing weight and showing stress, which is why he`s been added to our urgent list. Troy deserves so much better than a kennel, and we know the right home is out there for him.
