Story
Hi there! My name is Violet and I'm a 3 month old Female Belgian Malinois/ Pitbull Mix currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home! Life is one big adventure, and I'm ready to experience it all! I'm a young puppy with lots of energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the world around me. Whether it's exploring new places, playing with toys, learning new skills, or spending time with my people, I'm always excited to be part of the action. Like all puppies, I'm still learning the ropes and will need a family that's committed to helping me grow into a happy, well-mannered adult dog. That means continuing my potty training, crate training, socialization, and basic manners. A consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and plenty of patience will help me build confidence and succeed! I will also need daily physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep my busy puppy brain engaged. Think: walks, training sessions, puzzle toys, playtime, and opportunities to learn new things. The good news is that you won't have to do it alone. SBH offers puppy classes to help set both of us up for success and provide guidance as I continue learning and growing! If you're looking for a playful companion who's ready to fill your home with laughter, adventure, and lots of love, I might just be the one. Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier. If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No appointment or advance notice is required! Need to pick up a few essentials before heading home? Visit the retail center at either Santa Barbara Humane campus, where you'll find toys, treats, collars, leashes, and more at competitive prices. Every purchase helps support the animals in our care and the programs that serve pets and people throughout our community. We hope to see you soon!

Story
Luke is a handsome 3-year-old, 76-pound neutered Belgian Malinois currently available through Santa Barbara County Animal Services.Luke’s has already worked hard and accomplished so much. He is more confident, better prepared, and ready for someone who will see the loving, loyal dog he has become. He has been in training for months, knows a lot of commands and he is more confident, has learned to trust, and now has a strong foundation of obedience and everyday-life skills. His progress shows how intelligent, willing, and capable he is with consistency, patience, and positive guidance.Luke is deeply people-oriented and happiest near someone he trusts. He is a true “Velcro dog” who wants companionship, connection, and the reassurance of having his person nearby. He would much rather be with people or in the company of a compatible larger dog, than be left alone for long periods. He can still be cautious in unfamiliar environments, but he is far more confident than he once was. He may need a little time to adjust to new people, places, and routines, but once he feels safe, his affectionate and devoted personality shines. He responds best to calm handling, structure, positive reinforcement, and someone who will continue building on his progress.Although Luke is a Belgian Malinois, he is not looking for nonstop activity. He needs a healthy balance of exercise, mental stimulation, structure, affection, and quiet time beside his person. More than anything, he wants to be included in everyday life.Luke’s ideal adopter will be patient, confident, and committed to continuing his training. Experience with intelligent or sensitive working breeds would be helpful. A calm home, dependable routine, positive leadership, and plenty of companionship will help him continue to thrive.

Story
We`ve all seen the Tik-Toks of Malinois leaping tall buildings in a single bound and disabling multiple bad guys. Tyrone won`t be part of any SWAT team, but what a wonderful friend he`ll make.Multiple day fosters have described him as goofy, smart, playful and up for adventures. He`s also probably the cuddliest Mal that`s come through our doors. He likes lakes and the beach and kept his cool on one trip when a random off leash dog made the scene.Of course, as a Belgian, Tyrone is smart and active, so he will still need proper attention and stimulation in a home setting; he`s also still young. But he already knows more commands than a lot of dogs we know and is eager to learn and please. If you like working dogs and dogs who want to be a couch king with you, come meet Tyrone today.

Story
High-Energy Intellect Seeking a Confident Leader About Me:Hey there! I’m Scout. I’m a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, rocking a athletic 50-pound frame, a sharp mind, and a heart completely full of loyalty. If you’re looking for a partner-in-crime who is always alert, incredibly intelligent, and ready for the next big adventure—whether that’s a rugged hike, a long run, or just some high-quality one-on-one time—then I’m your guy.I might take a second to make sure we’re a good match, but once I feel secure and trust you? Expect total devotion. I’ve got a deeply sweet, affectionate side, and I form bonds that are built to last.My Ideal Partner:I’m looking for someone active, confident, and structured. As a true working breed, I thrive on purpose and need plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep me at my best. If you have experience with high-energy, intelligent breeds, we are already off to a great start. Our First Date:Probably a walk or a hike, where we can work on our teamwork! I can be a bit strong on the leash, so I really need a confident handler who can guide my energy and help me keep building my walking manners. I do great with other dogs my size or larger, so a double-date with a big canine buddy is totally fine by me.Relationship Goals:With the right leadership, patience, and commitment, I promise to shine as the most loyal, loving, and devoted companion you’ve ever had. I’m just looking for that special someone who is ready to have me by their side for life.Think you can handle all this brains and beauty? Let’s connect! Let`s talk about what kind of adventures we could go on together.

Story
Meet Troy — a spunky young husky who is ready to bring everything you love about the breed into your life.Talkative? Absolutely. Obsessed with water? Yes. Ready to run? Always. If you know and love huskies, Troy is your guy.At his best, Troy is an absolute joy — romping through playgroup with other dogs, charming every person he meets, and filling a home with personality and noise (the good kind). He`s affectionate, fun-loving, and thrives with canine company, though he`s a little selective about his friends. Troy is working on his reactivity to other dogs on leash and behind a fence, so he`ll need an experienced home that understands the breed and can give him the structure and patience to keep making progress. A wrestling buddy at home could be a dream scenario for this guy.Shelter life is starting to wear on him — he`s losing weight and showing stress, which is why he`s been added to our urgent list. Troy deserves so much better than a kennel, and we know the right home is out there for him.
