Story
If German Shepherds had yearbooks, Samson would probably win "Most Likely to Bring You His Ball Every Five Minutes."This handsome 6-year-old long-haired Shepherd is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. After being lovingly passed from one family member to another to keep him out of a shelter, Samson's owner was seriously injured in a car accident and is facing a lengthy recovery after upcoming surgery, making it impossible to give Samson the care and exercise he deserves.Samson is everything people love about German Shepherds: intelligent, loyal, affectionate, and full of personality. He knows sit, stay, lay down, shake, and catch, and one of his favorite activities is playing ball. When he's not showing off his skills, he's happy to relax with his favorite blanket and pillow while soaking up attention from his people.According to his previous owner, Samson is housetrained, gets along with both dogs and cats, and settles down quickly when left alone. He may protest your departure for a few minutes, but he's not destructive and doesn't have accidents in the house. His biggest weakness? Squirrels. If wildlife appears, Samson would very much like to investigate. While at the shelter, Samson has shown some protectiveness around his food, so we feel a home with children 8 years and older would be the best fit. Otherwise, he's been a wonderful dog—even earning gold stars during his veterinary exam for being cooperative and easy to handle. If you're looking for a smart, loving companion who will happily play fetch, keep an eye on the neighborhood vacuum cleaner, and be your loyal best friend, Samson is ready to meet you.Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 8yrs+All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
I’m Chispa — a 9-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix with plenty of spark still left in me! 🔥 Don’t let my age fool you — I love to stay active and have energy to spare when it’s time for a walk, play session, or a good game of fetch. I’m also friendly and affectionate once I get to know you, and I’ve still got that playful, happy-go-lucky attitude that keeps life interesting.I came to the shelter after my owner’s health declined, and while I’ve lived peacefully with another dog and a cat before, I haven’t loved meeting cats here — so I might be hit or miss in that department. I’d do best with respectful dog friends and humans who understand my boundaries.Speaking of which — I can be a bit protective of my food and toys, so I’d prefer a home with kids 12 and up who understand that I like my space when I’m eating or playing with something special. I’m also not a fan of being restrained (the vet usually needs to give me a little something to help me relax during exams), so gentle handling and patience are key.The good news? I’m housebroken, loyal, and full of love once you’re in my circle. I’m ready to find a home that appreciates my big heart, spunky personality, and the wisdom that comes with a little life experience. ❤️Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 12yrs+ (due to Resource Guarding); Breed ExperienceAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Story
🌸 Meet Lily: Professional Wallflower Turned Party Animal 🌸Lily would like you to know that first impressions are overrated. When you first meet her, this gorgeous brindle-and-white girl may hang back for a moment, carefully evaluating whether you're friend-shaped. But don't let her shy act fool you. Give Lily a little time, a few kind words, and maybe a snack or two, and suddenly you'll discover the goofy, playful puppy hiding underneath. At just 5 months old, Lily is still figuring out this whole "being a dog" thing. We don't know much about her past before she arrived from a local veterinary clinic, but what we do know is that she's an incredibly sweet baby who deserves a bright future. We suspect Lily may be a Bull Terrier/Malinois-type mix, which is a fancy way of saying she likely comes equipped with endless energy, endless curiosity, and endless ideas that may or may not be approved by her future family. She'll need plenty of exercise, training, socialization, and mental enrichment to help her grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be.The good news? Lily is smart, eager, and ready to learn. The bad news? Your socks may never be safe again. If you're looking for a puppy who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and reward your efforts with a lifetime of loyalty, Lily is ready to bloom in a home of her own.Requirements: Martingale CollarAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home.
