🐾 Meet Joe! 🐾Looking for a best friend who can match your energy and keep life interesting? Joe is ready to apply for the job. This happy 6-month-old Malinois mix recently arrived at H.A.L.O. from a shelter in South Florida with his brother, Cotton Eye, and he's eager to start his next adventure.Joe is all puppy—all the time! He's playful, goofy, incredibly smart, and has the classic Malinois attitude: if there's something to explore, learn, or investigate, he's already on it. He's looking for a family that understands this intelligent breed mix and is excited to continue his training while giving him plenty of exercise and enrichment.Malinois mixes aren't for everyone, but for the right person, they're amazing companions. Joe's eager mind and happy personality have all the ingredients to become an incredible adult dog with the guidance, structure, and consistency every growing puppy needs. Like many Malinois and young puppies, Joe can be mouthy and jump up when he's excited, so we think he'd do best with children 6 years and older who won't be easily overwhelmed by his exuberance. If you're ready to invest in a puppy who's full of potential, Joe is ready to reward you with a lifetime of loyalty, adventure, and plenty of goofy moments along the way. 🐾❤️Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 5yrs+ (Jumpy/Mouthy)All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
I’m Chispa — a 9-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix with plenty of spark still left in me! 🔥 Don’t let my age fool you — I love to stay active and have energy to spare when it’s time for a walk, play session, or a good game of fetch. I’m also friendly and affectionate once I get to know you, and I’ve still got that playful, happy-go-lucky attitude that keeps life interesting.I came to the shelter after my owner’s health declined, and while I’ve lived peacefully with another dog and a cat before, I haven’t loved meeting cats here — so I might be hit or miss in that department. I’d do best with respectful dog friends and humans who understand my boundaries.Speaking of which — I can be a bit protective of my food and toys, so I’d prefer a home with kids 12 and up who understand that I like my space when I’m eating or playing with something special. I’m also not a fan of being restrained (the vet usually needs to give me a little something to help me relax during exams), so gentle handling and patience are key.The good news? I’m housebroken, loyal, and full of love once you’re in my circle. I’m ready to find a home that appreciates my big heart, spunky personality, and the wisdom that comes with a little life experience. ❤️Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 12yrs+ (due to Resource Guarding); Breed ExperienceAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Story
I'd like to introduce you to Jade... a tennis ball enthusiast, kiddie pool connoisseur, professional sunbather, and loyal best friend all wrapped up in one beautiful German Shepherd.Jade is 6 years old and spent nearly her entire life with one family before they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her when they had to move into a rental with no fenced yard and breed restrictions. It wasn't the ending anyone wanted, but now she's hoping for a fresh start. This girl absolutely loves being outside. Throw a ball, fill up a kiddie pool, and you've officially planned her perfect day. Even though she'd rather be outside soaking up the sunshine, she's housebroken and kennel trained, making her an easy companion indoors, too. She even recently had a dental, so her smile is sparkling and ready to win you over.Like many German Shepherds, Jade takes protecting her home seriously. She's not a fan of lawnmowers or unfamiliar workers entering her space, and she does need to be muzzled for veterinary visits. Because of this, she'd do best with a breed-savvy, adult-only home that understands her boundaries and will help her feel safe and secure. With the people she knows and loves, though, she's all sweetness, playtime, and unwavering loyalty. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will happily chase tennis balls all afternoon and be your shadow through life's adventures, Jade is ready to meet you. ❤️Requirements: Martingale Collar; No ChildrenAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Story
🐾 Meet Pippin 🐾Pippin’s story began with heartbreak. She was found rummaging through a garbage can, simply trying to fill her belly. We may never know what she went through before arriving at H.A.L.O., but one thing is certain: she’s a survivor, and she’s ready for a fresh start. At just 2 years old, Pippin is still very much a young dog. She likely missed out on some of the guidance and socialization puppies typically receive, so she’s looking for a family willing to invest in her and help her continue to grow. With structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, we know she’ll blossom into an incredible companion.Pippin recently spent some time in a home, where we learned a lot about her. She can be cautious around new people, especially men, and may bark when she’s feeling unsure. She isn’t being mean, she’s simply asking for a little patience. Slow introductions and the chance to settle into new people and environments make all the difference. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. She’s smart, curious, energetic, and absolutely loves to cuddle.Pippin has done well with other dogs, although she can be selective with some male dogs. We always introduce dogs before adoption to help ensure they’re a good match. She is looking for a cat-free home and would do best with children 5 years and older who can respect her space while she adjusts. While Pippin isn’t fully house-trained yet, she’s been keeping her kennel clean at the shelter and was doing her best during her time in a home. With a consistent routine and continued guidance, we think she’ll pick it up quickly.Pippin isn’t looking for perfection. She’s looking for someone willing to see her potential and give her the love, patience, and stability she’s always deserved. In return, she’ll give you unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and plenty of cuddles.Could Pippin be your next adventure buddy? 🐶💛Requirements: Martingale collar • Children 5 years and older • No catsAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Story
Leo 🐾Some dogs have pasts that break your heart. Leo's is one we can only imagine. At just 6 months old, Leo has already been through more than any puppy should. He was rescued from a bad situation in Bahrain by a South Florida rescue before being transferred to us for a chance at a better life. We don't know exactly what he endured, but somehow, he came through it with his sweet, playful spirit still shining. Our best guess is Greyhound/Shepherd, but he's definitely a mystery mix! He's friendly, excitable, incredibly playful, and hasn't let his difficult beginning steal his love for life. He seems like he'd do well with dogs and kids and is just a happy little guy who loves having fun.Leo could potentially live with a cat, but his temperament test showed that he'd probably enjoy chasing one. He's young and still learning his manners, so he'd need a family willing to patiently teach him that cats aren't toys. And then there's Daisy. They've shared the hardest chapter of their lives together, and we'd love for them to have the chance to share the happiest one, too. We would love to see them adopted together, but we'll consider separate homes if the right families come along.Leo has already survived the hard part. Now he deserves a safe home, a loving family, and the chance to finally just be a puppy. 🐾❤️Requirements: Martingale CollarAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
