Story
You won't find a more handsome, intelligent or silly boy than Sidney. He is about 3.5 years old and weighs 84 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show some barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he shows absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention Sidney is currently located in the Middle TN area but transport is included in the adoption fee for approved adopter If you are interested in Sidney, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
Meet Liv – A Rare Gem Ready to Shine 4.5-Year-Old Female Norwegian Elkhound | Southern NH | Fostered through Critter Cavalry Rescue Little Liv is a beautiful, 4.5-year-old Norwegian Elkhound, a stunning and rare breed known for its loyalty, intelligence, and resilience. Liv is the full package—gorgeous inside and out, with a gentle soul that’s just waiting to fully bloom in the right home. After a rough start in life, Liv is learning what it means to feel safe and loved. She’s a sweet, sensitive girl who needs a bit of patience and understanding as she adjusts. Sudden noises or movements can startle her, so a quiet, stable environment is key to her continued progress. But with each day, her true personality shines brighter—especially when she's around her foster Elkie siblings, whom she adores. Liv is house-trained, though it's wise to expect a few adjustment accidents in a new space. She does very well with cats and finds great comfort in the presence of other calm, confident dogs. A fenced-in yard is a must, as Liv loves the outdoors and needs a safe place to decompress. Her ideal home? A retiree or remote worker who can offer her companionship, routine, and plenty of quiet time. She’s not a good fit for apartments, crates, electric fences, tie-outs, or homes with young children—but for the right person or family, Liv will be the most loyal and loving friend. Liv’s stunning coat is starting to glow as she settles in, and her foster is making great progress with brushing and confidence-building. Her rare breed status, sweet nature, and soulful eyes make her a one-of-a-kind companion who just needs the right person to help her thrive. Interested? Apply through Critter Cavalry Rescue, and feel free to reach out with any questions. Liv is currently being fostered in Southern New Hampshire, where she’s patiently waiting for her forever home. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 9, 2025, 5:26 pm

Story
Gregarious Gail, as we call her, is just 21 months old and is a true beauty of a pure bred Norwegian Elkhound.  She possesses all the wonderful traits through and through. Gail is a special girl because as a puppy she had an infection that caused her to lose her tail and two toes on her back feet.  She is so cute with the shorter tail and it hasn't slowed her down a bit. In fact, Gail is a very active and athletic lady who can jump, run, spin and play.  Gail hasn't had much of a start in life and she deserves much more.   She is outgoing and very sweet and just a touch shy at first when she meets new people and new situations.  Critter Cavalry rescued her an overwhelmed Elkhound breeder and has promised this loving, loyal and friendly girl, to give her a family that will recognize her special bright spirit.  She gets along well with others and goodness just look at that beautiful face. She is going to make some person or family so very happy.  This rare breed is known for being extremely loyal, intelligent and sensitive.    If you are interested in owning a breed that is fast becoming rare in the U.S. then please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is ready for a fresh new start to her young life. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 4, 2024, 11:48 pm
