Story
I was found as a stray with another doggy friend. I seem very funny and friendly. I have heartworms and the staff members at the shelter can provide more information about that and my treatment. In North Carolina, it`s unfortunately common to see many dogs that are infected with heartworms (they are transmitted by mosquito bites). Heartworm disease may cause severe lung disease, heart failure, or other organ damage in dogs. It`s usually fatal if left untreated. Heartworm treatment is costly. With your support, OCAS can help more dogs with this disease - resulting in healthier dogs that are even more likely to get adopted. Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign.Foster notes on Ray:`Ray is so sweet! He is not very treat motivated — in fact, he smells treats, but doesn’t eat them — but he is very pet-motivated! He loves getting pets and affection. When I brought him to my house, every time he heard a voice, his tail would wag and he would get very excited. I was worried that meeting all the new people would scare him, but he was so so so excited to meet everyone! He really loves humans, and was incredibly cuddly and affectionate in my room. He did not bark or growl once. He is so so so affectionate and cuddly. He is such a lapdog.``We went for a walk in chapel hill and sat for lunch at med deli. He didn’t really pull beside when I was taking him away from the car and he wanted to stay in it. He was also stressed and afraid of sudden noises but always got happy when someone wanted to pet him. His did great with getting in the car and ridding in it. He liked it that much that he refused getting out of it so we had to pick him up to help. He didn’t eat any treats but enjoyed pets and cuddling. The best car rider in the world!`

Story
I came to the shelter when my owner could no longer care for me. I have been experiencing some anxiety at the shelter but staff is working with me to try and help me adjust.I`m a little shy at first, but once I have a minute to get to know you, I open up! I am sweet and a little goofy. I like to prance when I walk. I like other dogs!
