Story
Meet Molly, a one-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing 50 pounds.Molly is a gentle sweetheart looking for a family ready to show her just how wonderful life can be. She came to us as a stray alongside Mia, and when she first arrived, so much of the world was still brand new and a little overwhelming for her.At first, Molly was unsure about new places, new experiences, and even simple everyday things. With time, patience, and care, she has made incredible progress and her true personality is starting to shine. She is a sweet, soft-natured girl who is learning that the world can be a safe and happy place.Molly has blossomed into a wonderful companion. She now enjoys going for walks and has discovered that exploring the world with her people can be a lot of fun! She does well in a crate, uses a dog door like a pro, and did great with potty training in a home environment. She also enjoys the company of other dogs and plays well with her canine friends.Molly is a food-loving girl who gets very excited about mealtime! She enjoys her meals so much that she may try to help herself to another dog`s food if given the opportunity, so her future family will want to keep an eye on unattended bowls. While Molly may still need some reassurance as she continues building confidence, she has shown how much she is capable of learning and growing. She has an eager-to-please personality and responds beautifully to patience, gentle guidance, and positive experiences.Molly is a kind, loving girl who has already come so far. She’s ready for a family who will continue cheering her on and showing her that she is finally safe, loved, and home. This pet is available for adoption on 5/21/2026 2:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Chia Seeds, a six and a half year old German Shepherd mix weighing 65 pounds.Chia Seeds is an absolute delight with the sweetest personality and the most adorable fox-like face. Her beautiful sugar muzzle only adds to her charm, giving her a distinguished look that perfectly matches her gentle spirit.Chia Seeds was found abandoned near an elk feeding station, far from where anyone would expect a dog to end up on her own. She has a microchip, and although we reached out to the listed owners—and even confirmed through a relative that we had the correct contact information—we never received a response. Now this deserving girl is ready to leave her past behind and find a family that will love her for the rest of her life. Her finders had wonderful things to say about her. They reported that Chia Seeds peacefully coexisted with their outdoor chickens and cats, never bothering them. They even watched her on security cameras calmly walking past the animals without issue. While every new home and animal introduction should be done slowly and thoughtfully, this speaks to her kind and respectful nature. As a German Shepherd, Chia Seeds is part of a breed known for its intelligence, loyalty, and eagerness to bond with its family. German Shepherds thrive when they are included in daily life and enjoy learning through positive, reward-based training. They are happiest when they have regular exercise, mental enrichment, and plenty of time with their people, making them devoted companions for families who are ready to include them in their adventures.Chia Seeds is a sweet, affectionate girl who deserves a second chance with a family that will never leave her behind. If you`re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart, a beautiful fox-like face, and so much love to give, Chia Seeds is ready to become your new best friend. This pet is available for adoption on 7/28/2026 3:00 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
