Story
Meet Molly, a one year old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing 50 pounds.Molly is a gentle sweetheart looking for a family ready to show her just how wonderful life can be. She came to us as a stray alongside Mia, and it’s clear that much of the world is still very new to her. New places, new experiences, and even simple everyday things seem to be things she’s still figuring out. While Molly can be a little unsure at times, she is slightly more outgoing and a bit quicker to investigate the world around her. She appears to have had very little experience with things like walking on a leash, so it can still feel a little scary and unfamiliar, but she is trying her best and has an eager-to-please personality that will help her go far.Molly could use some TLC and a family that understands the value of patience and gentle guidance. She has a sweet, soft nature and seems ready to soak up all the love and reassurance she can get. With time and encouragement, we think Molly is going to gain confidence and continue coming out of her shell. She’s a kind girl with a lot of potential, just waiting for someone to help her discover how exciting and safe the world can be.This pet is available for adoption on 5/21/2026 2:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Meet Peanut, a nine month old German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix weighing 35 pounds. Peanut is a sweet and lovable pup who is looking for a family to help her grow into the amazing dog she`s meant to be. This adorable medium-sized girl loves people and has a gentle, affectionate personality. One of her cutest habits is belly-crawling over for attention and cuddles. As a young dog, Peanut is at the perfect age to continue building confidence through positive socialization. Early socialization helps dogs learn how to navigate the world and can set them up for success as happy, well-adjusted adult dogs. Peanut has already been around dogs, cats, and even birds, giving her a great foundation to build on.Peanut is playful, curious, and a bit of a climber. She`s also shown a talent for escaping if left unattended outside, so she`ll need a secure yard and supervision while she learns good habits. If you`re looking for a sweet girl who is ready to learn, love, and grow alongside you, Peanut may be the perfect addition to your family. This pet is available for adoption on 6/15/2026 2:25 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Dusty, a nine week old German Shepherd mix weighing 8 pounds.Dusty is a sweet, playful puppy with a resilient spirit and a bright future ahead of him. He and his brother, Dex, were born to a stray mama and spent their early weeks fending for themselves. When they were found, the boys were so hungry that they had been seen eating a dead chicken in an effort to survive. Thankfully, animal control brought them to safety, and Dusty has been thriving ever since.Despite his rough start, Dusty is a friendly, affectionate puppy who loves people, playtime, and exploring the world around him. He has all the curiosity, energy, and enthusiasm you`d expect from a young pup, and he`s ready to find a family to call his own.As with any puppy, Dusty will need continued training, patience, and guidance as he grows. Positive reinforcement training and consistent socialization are especially important to help him develop into a confident, well-mannered adult dog. Exposure to new people, places, sounds, and experiences will help him build the skills he needs to be a successful companion.Dusty has already shown that he`s adaptable, loving, and eager to connect with people. Now he just needs a family willing to invest the time and love every puppy deserves. In return, you`ll gain a loyal best friend who has overcome a difficult beginning and is ready for a lifetime of adventures. This pet is available for adoption on 6.19.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Meet Khloe, a three-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix weighing around 50 pounds.Khloe is a sweet, friendly girl with a unique look and a curious spirit. She was brought in as a stray alongside her sister, Kali, and while she shares some of Kali’s shyness, Khloe is a bit braver and more willing to explore the world around her. She’s gentle and affectionate, though still a little unsure at first — the perfect companion for someone willing to go slow and let her confidence grow. Her curious nature means she loves to investigate new sights and smells, always with a thoughtful, cautious approach. She has met other dogs with us and has shown to be playful so she might do well in a home with another dog to help her out of her shell or she could be fine as an only dog. She also did well when she saw cats but we recommend slow introductions. Khloe is ready to find a loving home where she can continue to gain confidence, share her sweet personality, and show off her one-of-a-kind charm. She may start a little shy, but with patience and love, she’ll become a devoted, joyful companion. This pet is available for adoption on 2.17.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Leilei, a five-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix weighing 55 pounds.Leilei is a lovely, easygoing girl who is ready to find a family to call her own. She was found as a stray and cared for by her finders for a time, but they were ultimately unable to continue caring for her. During her stay with them, they learned that Leilei is a friendly and affectionate companion who gets along well with men, women, and children. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, Leilei warms up quickly and soon shows off her sweet personality. She enjoys spending time with her people, loves treats, and has a charming talkative side that makes her even more endearing. Whether she`s quietly relaxing at home or accompanying you on an outing, Leilei is happy to be part of the action. One of Leilei`s favorite activities is going for walks, and she walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for daily strolls. Best of all, she`s past the puppy stage, so she`s ready to settle into a home without the constant chaos and training demands that often come with young puppies. If you`re looking for a low-key, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship, walks, and the occasional tasty treat, Leilei could be the perfect fit. Come meet this sweet girl and see if she`s the missing piece of your family! This pet is available for adoption on 6/16/2026 2:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. $50 Adoption fee! Why so low? Yakima County is spilling over with stray and dumped dogs. Our goal is to get dogs into the right homes ASAP so we can help other dogs in need. It's not about the money, it's about finding the right home for these pups! Jazzy spent several months at the Humane Society before coming to our rescue. She was found in the street in rough shape, like she had to fend for herself for quite some time. It’s obvious she was bred multiple times, then probably dumped. Jazzy is friendly to everyone and likes to be close to her humans. She’d love to be the center of attention by being the only dog, but she will tolerate fur siblings. She’s up for any new adventure or laying around the house. Sometimes I catch her just hanging out outside in the cold by choice. This sweet girl is ready to find a family of her own that will give frequent scratches and cuddles. This dog is located in Selah, WA. PetFinder allows multiple postings of the same animal as long as the postings are 100 miles apart from each other. This way we can reach far and wide to find the perfect home for this dog. If driving to Selah is difficult for you, we will do our best to find a rescue partner to meet you halfway. As with any adoption, slow introductions are recommended. One thing to know about Joker is that he can be a bit of an escape artist—he has been known to hop a fence if left unattended outside. Because of this, he`ll do best with a family that supervises outdoor time and provides plenty of companionship, exercise, and enrichment.Joker is a bright, friendly dog who`s ready for a fresh start. If you`re looking for a smart, well-mannered companion with lots of promise, Joker may be the perfect match for you! This pet is available for adoption on 6/25/2026 12:43 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Titan, a one year old Belgian Malinois mix weighing 51 pounds.Titan is a stunning young dog with gorgeous sable coloring, long legs, and an athletic build that turns heads wherever he goes. While his looks are impressive, it`s his sweet and sensitive personality that really steals hearts.Titan is a submissive boy who looks to his people for guidance and reassurance. He wants to be close to you, follow your lead, and figure out the world together. A little unsure in new situations, Titan takes comfort in having someone he trusts by his side. Once he feels safe, his affectionate nature shines through, and you`ll quickly discover that belly rubs are one of his favorite things in the world. We suspect Titan may have some Belgian Malinois in his background. Dogs with Malinois traits are known for their intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and strong desire to work closely with their people. They often form deep bonds with their families and thrive when given structure, training, and opportunities to use both their minds and bodies.Titan seems to have that same intuitive nature, always watching his people and looking for direction. He isn`t the type of dog who wants to be the boss—he`s looking for a confident owner who can show him the way. With patience, guidance, and plenty of love, Titan has all the makings of an incredibly devoted companion. If you`re looking for a handsome best friend who wants nothing more than to be your shadow, Titan may be the perfect match. This pet is available for adoption on 6/6/2026 9:08 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
