Story
Meet Balto, a handsome 4 year old pup in the prime of his life — strong, energetic, and ready for adventure. This handsome boy came to Broken Tail Rescue when his owner sadly realized they could no longer give him the time and attention that he needs. Now, Balto is waiting for a family who can match his enthusiasm and zest for life.
Balto is exceptionally smart and highly food-motivated, which makes training both fun and effective. He loves learning, thrives with structure, and truly enjoys working with his people. Whether it’s mastering new commands, going on long walks, playing fetch, or engaging in mentally stimulating games, Balto is happiest when he’s active and involved.
Winter is his season — he absolutely lights up in the snow! Watching him roll, bounce, and zoom around in a snowy yard is pure joy. Because of his energy level and strength, Balto would do best in a home where people are around often and can provide regular exercise, continued training, and plenty of engagement. He has a big personality — playful, affectionate, and full of character — along with an even bigger heart. He bonds deeply with his humans and wants nothing more than to be part of the action. His ideal forever home would include a family, someone that works from home, and a fenced in yard.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you active, make you laugh, and shower you with love, Balto may be your perfect match.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
