Story
Winona has been through a lot. We don't know all the details of her life but she was discovered in a local residents yard, where she had been hiding for several days. She's still fairly timid but she's a gentle girl and is starting to come out of her shell. Winona will need a quiet, adult home with yard access. She loves to lean into you and snuggle up. Even though, Winona is a big girl, she thinks she's a lap dog. She's athletic as well and once comfortable, she will love walks and hikes. Story
Hi I’m MAX and was saved just in time at the shelter. I’m 1 year old and 64lbs of playfulness. I’m shy at first meeting but once I know you I’m as happy as can be. I love my toys, playing fetch and following you around. I’m a quick learner too as my foster parents are teaching me basic commands, which I’ve learned in a jiffy. I’m house-trained, good with dogs and probably need some training on a leash. But I’m smart as a whip and eager to please if you just teach me. Won’t you be my forever friend?”

⭐️⭐️ We are happy and excited that the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of S. Cal (“BMDCSC”) has graciously accepted these beautiful girls into their adoption program ⭐️⭐️. DoVE will forward all applications for the girls to BMDCSC and they will be in touch with you. THE ADOPTION PROCESS WILL BE PER BMDCSC’S RULES AND PROCEDURE AND NOT DOVE’S. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. Hi! My name is Winnie, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Los Angeles! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family! ID/NAME: DV24-001 / Winnie SEX/WEIGHT/AGE: Female / 66 lbs / 3 years BIRTH DATE: Aug 1, 2020 BREED: Bernese Mountain Dog VACCINATIONS/SPAY/NEUTER/HEALTH: Vaccinations complete / Spayed / Healthy. BEHAVIOR: Rosie is very friendly with humans and other dogs. SIBLINGS/FAMILY: Rosie BACKGROUND: Rescued by DoVE in July 2023 from Namyangju slaughterhouse. ABOUT OUR DOGS DoVE dogs come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors. ********************************* DoVE Project operates a shelter in South Korea, where our dogs stay until they are matched with an adopter. In the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form.

Story
PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org Page is ready for her furever home! Page is one of the now 1 year old girls we received on the last transport of Bernese/golden pups off of a heartbreaking property in New Mexico. She had no exposure to anything before coming to us. She lived outside with her littermates, and that was the only life she ever knew. She has come out of her shell quite a bit over the past few weeks and is now ready to find a furever home of her own.Page has learned how fun walks and car rides can be, but she can still be nervous in new situations. She enjoys her doggie foster sibling and would be best in a home with another dog.She is an easy going girl right now who is just taking all these new things in. She is initally timid but warms up quick and loves snacks. She has done well with just a small outdoor patio space where she was able to potty initially until she got comfortable, and now with frequent walks around the neighborhood. So, she would be okay in a home without a yard as long as you are patient, have another dog, and some small form of a secure outdoor space for her initially. These dogs have been through a lot and need very committed people ready to show them the world isn’t so scary. If this sounds like you and you’re interested in adopting Page, please complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org ! Page is currently being fostered in San Diego but can be adopted anywhere as long as you can come to SoCal to meet/get her and drive home. We don’t ship any of our dogs PLEASE NOTE: Page's adoption fee is $800

These pups are in Moorpark, California too!
