Story
Moostifer is a 3-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog weighing in at a handsome 107 pounds of fluffy love. This gentle giant is settling into foster care and showing everyone what a sweet boy he is once he gets to know you. Moostifer is believed to be house-trained, but he's still adjusting to a brand-new environment, so he's had a few accidents along the way. With patience and a consistent routine, he's expected to continue making progress. One thing Moostifer has made very clear? Crates are not his thing! At 107 pounds, finding one big enough isn't exactly easy anyway. He gets along well with his canine foster family, including his Great Pyrenees foster brother and two 30-pound puppy foster sisters. Moostifer enjoys being involved in whatever the other dogs are doing, so he'd do best with easygoing canine companions who don't mind a friendly, oversized shadow. While he hasn't been around children in his foster home, we were told he previously did well with kids. Because Moostifer can get excited and has a big bark to match his big personality, he'll need a home without shared walls. A securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs, sniff around, and enjoy the outdoors would truly be a dream come true for him. His foster mom says, "He's a very sweet boy once he warms up to you! He gets so excited when you come home that he may jump up to say hello. He absolutely loves pets and takes treats very gently." If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a heart as big as he is, Moostifer may be the perfect addition to your family. All he needs is a little patience while he settles in—and in return, you'll have a devoted best friend for life. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
