Story
From early on, we noticed that Bauer required a higher level of attention and stimulation than typical. He sometimes had difficulty settling and could become overstimulated, so we put structure in place to support him—using his crate as a safe space to decompress and consistently applying positive reinforcement in his training. Over the past year, however, some of Bauer’s behaviors have become more challenging for us to manage. What initially presented as high energy has evolved into increased reactivity and difficulty with self-regulation. He has shown some resource guarding behaviors, particularly around guests, and has become more sensitive to correction. We care deeply about Bauer and want to ensure he is placed in an environment where he can receive the level of support and structure he needs to thrive. With four children in our home, including a baby, we need to prioritize a setting that is safe for everyone.
