My life didn’t get the best start. I was rescued from an illegal puppy mill in 2025 after spending my most important early socialization weeks locked inside a pet shop cage. Since then, I’ve been learning what it means to be safe and loved, and I’ve been happily fostered with three wonderful kids for about a year.
I’m a gentle and sweet girl who can be a little shy at first. I do best with a calm, patient approach, and tasty treats are a wonderful way to win my heart! Once I’m comfortable with you, I become much more trusting and will happily let you pet me, pick me up, and give me my favorite belly rubs.
I’m very gentle with children and enjoy being around them. I also get along well with other dogs, although I’m most comfortable with dogs around my size or smaller.
I have moderate energy and enjoy walks and outdoor adventures, followed by relaxing at home. I’m still learning about the big world around me, so new things can sometimes make me nervous. I’m about 50% pee-pad and 50% outdoor trained, and I’m working hard on my potty manners.
I’m not much of a barker, have no resource guarding or aggression issues, and haven’t shown separation anxiety. I may whine in my crate because I’m still learning that it’s a safe place. Car rides are also very new to me, and I experience pretty severe carsickness, so I’ll need a patient family to help me work through that.
Oh, and I have a funny little quirk—I sometimes like to sleep on the window frame!
I’ve come such a long way, and now I’m looking for a gentle, loving family who will continue helping me build confidence and show me how wonderful life can be.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
