We were all very filthy with matted fur and pretty thin. We are a bit nervous at first but warm up quickly. Due to our background we will likely need a little bit of extra love and patience in our new homes. I am a little bit more reserved than my friends, but come around quickly. I was overwhelmed for my grooming appointment due to fear and would need a little bit more patience. Once I know I can trust you, I will absolutely melt into your hands. I do well with other dogs my size and would likely benefit from having another friendly dog in the home with me!

We are a bit nervous at first but warm up quickly. Due to our background we will likely need a little bit of extra love and patience in our new homes. I am a little bit more independent and energetic than my friends. I am probably the most confident one of the group. I walk pretty nicely on a leash and ride well in a car. I was very well behaved for my grooming appointment too! I do pretty well with other dogs my size, though I can be a little bit pusy with them. At first meeting, I mean seem a tad standoffish, but I am easily won over and become very affectionate!

I am very sweet and I love to be with my person. I am a companion dog to a T. I don't do well with cats, I will bark and chase them. I do listen and will stop if asked, but my drive for cats is pretty strong right now. But I am great with other dogs. I do like order and can get nervous when dogs are having "fun". I was probably the Grand Poobah and needed to keep the order in the pack. I am crate, potty and pad trained. I would be great for an older couple or single adult. If you are looking for a calm, mature companion dog pick me!

I have a great sniffer, so I love to search out bunnies, chase butterflies and birds in the yard. If its in my yard, I'm going to check it out. Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR. Humphrey is no longer available for adoption, because of his declining health, SCMR feels it is in his best interest to keep him in his loving foster home for the time he has left.  A home that is familiar and where he enjoys his foster siblings.  He is 9 years old and is doing well considering his health issues.     If anyone would like to help sponsor his medical bills   (treating his poly-arthritis), please feel free to send a   donation, and be sure to let us know the donation is for   him.  We will place your name on his website as a   sponsor angel, if you would like.     Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences.
